“Nice room”
Reviewed October 24, 2012

We stayed here because of a Wedding Anniversary party that was held there. The room was very nice and very clean and not connected to the casino, which was nice. The hallway did smell like cigarette smoke but that smell was not in the room. The bathroom was really nice with a deep tub if you want to soak. The banquet room staff was very nice and helpful. You do have to go through the casino to get to the banquet rooms, and the cigarette smoke smell will cling to you as you pass through the casino...no bypassing that, had to shower before going to bed to get rid of the smell. Check in Staff was very nice also...smooth process and we got to check in early.

We were passing through the area on our visit to the US West coast and stayed here as the price was competitive with local motel chains but here you got so much more for your money – a huge room with king-size bed and high quality décor. This along with the Swimming pool made it a really good value stop off point on our road trip. Although the place is setup around the Casino we didn’t bother with it, only eating in the Brewery that evening. Whether you are staying for the Casino or not we would definitely recommend the Lodge as a good value place to stay.

It was a really good sign when the lady at the check-in counter asked what floor we wanted to stay on. Highest floor, thank you, and why don't other hotels do the same thing?

We booked a deluxe king room here on a weekday for only $79, and I was happily surprised at what we got for that price. The room was fairly large and spotlessly clean, with extras like a fridge; microwave; coffemaker; ironing board; hair dryer; and makeup mirror. Very nice toiletries, lots of towels, comfy bed. Free wi-fi which we had no problems using. And most importantly, no smoke from the casino, which is in a completely separate building.

And did I mention the indoor-outdoor pool and hot tub? Open from 8 am to 11 pm, and 10-11 pm is adults only. There was also a sauna, which we didn't get around to using. My only nit is that the pool was REALLY cold (not heated), but I suppose on a hot afternoon it would be considered refreshing. Ask for towels at the front desk.

This is a good deal.

Room Tip: Go on a weekday for bargain rates

We did the party package; room, gambling bucks and show tickets. Good deal, good package. The show was a band called DECADES, and they were FANTASTIC. The best band I've ever seen out there. I think the tribute bands are ok, but this completely blew any tribute bands out of the water because the songs are so versatle...they play all the great hits, and they play them well!! Every member is exciting to watch; the drummer and lead guitar just kills it. The baseman sings like Johnny Cash and the female and male leads are nothing short of superstars! The dancing was great fun, and we had the best night. Kudos also to whoever does their lighting and sound. Amazing and very professional. We could have been in Vegas that night. As for the room, I expected it to smell of cigarette smoke, but the room was actually very pleasant, and very convienient if you plan to do some gambling. The bed was perfect. The food was also good, reasonablly priced and of course the beer is fantastic. Friendly staff. We will be back, especially when DECADES is playing.

Room Tip: Go with the Party Package if you plan to gamble and see the show. See the show, but definately see t...

I have been to more casino resorts than I care to count (uh-oh) but this lodge and casino are such a wonderful combination, they stand alone. The separate Lodge is staffed by priceless characters, it's absolutely spotless and the rooms are beautiful with wonderful toiletries. The casino has a micro brewery and a well done bargain buffet (sit with the irrepressible veteran, Nita). I would encourage gamblers and non-gamblers alike to enjoy the Lodge, it has no gaming feel at all. The casino is divided into many sections, each with a slightly different vibe. It's not Vegas, but it has a wonderful mix of central California denizens. If you are in the area...go! If you are out of the area, make a point to visit. Orville is a great little town, all sorts of water recreation abounds. A truly great spot!

Room Tip: I stayed in the Manzanita Suite, wonderful bath, great bedroom and living room with a fireplace.

Stayed during 4th of July week for 3 nights. Scott at the front desk was fantastic. I will have to put him on my Xmas list. We stayed in the king suite, with a balcony. Liked being able to open the door for fresh air. Sheets on the bed soft, bed firm, shower was the bomb. Instant hot water and lots of it. Will stay there again
