“Immersed in majesty of the redwoods”
Reviewed June 20, 2011

We took the 2 hour ride and saw an amazing variety of foliage and massive trees. The ride was gentle and slow paced so we were able to soak up the beauty around us. At the top of the trail we caught glimpses of the Pacific and could faintly hear the surf. Our guide was knowledgable and friendly. So glad we went on this ride.

“Knowledgeable, Friendly!”
Reviewed July 21, 2010

Kimberly & Kristina(sp) (sisters) & the daughters(Kayla & Taylor!) are so friendly & helpful. The daughters helped us figure out which horse was which & their personalities & Kristina & Kimberly made sure we were on the most appropriate mount. It was a little hard to find a stable in the area, and we are happyto have found Redwood Creek Buckarettes through another website. We did the Picnic Trail Ride & were very pleased with the amount of information they gave regarding flora & fauna of the area including interesting info about the redwoods & varying environments throughout the ride. I mentioned it was my fiance's birthday & they so graciously went out of their way to get a "happy birthday" cookie (which instead of cookies they had asked for turned into one large cookie...hard to get in a saddle bag!) for him as well as handle condiment preferences. We highly recommend them for the area. Orick is only 30-45 min N. of Mckinleyville (a great central location)...maybe an hour (at most) from Arcata/Eureka. There is a small "convenience" store before you get to Dryden Rd. that has plenty of drinks, hot chocolate, coffe & snacks etc... available if you get there early! They have a port-a-pottie at the Rodeo Grounds, but maybe bring some napkins/toilet paper in case they are out!
