“On the Beach”

Camping right on the Beach. Nice to be able to walk right out of camp to the sand. Don't forget to make reservations.

“It's a beach. At the end of miles of dirt road”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 26, 2013

Humboldt and Del Norte counties have so many beautiful, secluded, empty beaches and we found this one to be no better and maybe a bit worse than others!

The "worse" is because you have to drive a long, rough dirt road to get here.

Yes, the beach is long wide and flat but so are many other beaches. There maybe are a few less people here, but to be honest *none* of the local beaches are crowded - this ain't southern California!

If the booth has a Park Ranger, you have to pay a day use fee.

Is it worth the drive? No, not in my opinion.

“Beautiful beach”

We were the only ones on this beach. It was chilly and the waves were powerful when we visited. A great place to admire the beauty and beach comb.

“Interesting”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 8, 2013

There is a lot to do here. There is a drive on the dirt almost one lane road with ferns and skunk cabbage so lush. There is the beach with camp sites. Wildflowers were blooming. The Elk were hanging out on the beach, and it is amazing to watch these animals. A short hike to Fern Canyon is so calming,a walk through the creek with ferns hanging from the bluffs..beautiful!!!

“Wild and Beautiful...”

Looking for elk...they will come and find you. Wild and beautiful along a nice stretch of unspoiled Northern California Coast.
