“Solid Best Western Hotel”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 7, 2013

This Best Western Suites hotel is solid for the Best Western brand. The suite was nice and spacious - we only stayed one night, but it would be nice for a longer stay. The hotel is located in front of an business office plaza so it's not much to look at - we actually thought it was an office building. There is a nice pool/spa located in the middle of the hotel. It was busy with families. The location for us was perfect for a trip to Angels Stadium - it's only about a 5 minute drive. It's also close to the outlet mall. I wouldn't stay in this location if I was planning a trip to Disneyland - it's not that close. The breakfast was nice. There was a nice selection and the staff kept the food refilled and stocked.

We stayed here with 2 grandchildren 11 and 13 and were very happy with the hotel. Pool, breakfast, free internet, 2 TV's and especially the spaciousness of the suite - all contributed to a positive experience. The friendly, helpful staff and attractiveness of the courtyard with flowers, palm trees, and fountain made us feel like we were in a more expensive hotel.

I am catching up on my 2013 reviews. We have been in Disneyland about 40 days in 9 months. We've stayed in 10 different hotels near DL in those 9 months. I am big on Hotwire/Priceline, but this time, I needed a bigger room for 6, so I found this and still can't believe the value. If you prepay, you get about 20% off and the rate reflects the distance to Disneyland, which is far, so it's cheaper. If this property was outside the gates, it would be sold out all of the time and the rate would be about $200/night.

We returned from DL at night and found the door ajar (housekeeping was there last). After talking to the desk and checking our items to see if anything was missing, all was well. Hotel doors are designed to close by themselves (fire safety). This room did not. I'm sure it is fixed, but always check to see the door closes behind you.

If you have a DL annual pass with parking, try this hotel out. It's all freeway to get there, but a bit tricky to get back from DL by freeway. There is an ART shuttle stop here. Walking is not an option (it would take over an hour, I think)

The 2 room 2 queen suite is perfect for a DL family. The beds are very comfortable. The inner courtyard with pool is very nice. The breakfast is a hot breakfast with waffles, eggs, sausage, etc. If you could get a 2 room suite that sleeps 6 with hot breakfast with no parking or resort fees (15 mins to DL) for $110/night, would that work for you?

We plan to return again and again to this gem. If you ask my family, this would rate as our favorite Disneyland Hotel, beating Marriott Suites, Crowne Plaza, Red Lion, Marriott, Travelodge International, Holiday Inn, Doubletree Orange, Anaheim Plaza, and Anaheim Islander (yup, we stayed at all of these since Oct 2012)

Room Tip: Call 3 days ahead and request an inside room, which means room access from the courtyard.

Three of us stayed here for three nights for Disneyland. It was one of the best king suites we have stayed in in terms of comfort, size and price. We usually stay at Marriott's SpringHill Suites and generally like them. This BW hotel is better for its size and price. It was the largest king suite we had stayed in. Location for Disneyland is not bad either if you are willing to drive for 7-8 minutes. We usually have issues with sofa beds in the king suites of many other hotels (the springs are either too soft or too worn out), but the sofa bed in this room was just firm enough for a comfortable night of sleep and we felt it was more comfy than some of the actual beds in othe hotels. Parking is free too. If I have to mention problems, the external look is not very pretty - from outside it looks like an office building. But then the beautiful plant-filled central courtyard (with swimming pool and hot tub) more than compensates - but bear in mind that the pool and hot tub open at 9am and close at 10pm. Breakfast is average with scrambled eggs, sausages, hot and cold drinks, and a small selection of pastries, but for the price and close proximity to Disneyland I would not complain at all.

I have stayed at this property 2 times, after the first time I said to myself never again, but on the Best Western site stated that the property had just been upgraded and remodeled.
When I arrived, the lobby was exactly the same, I thought that the upgraded done was on the rooms, wrong!
The elevator stunk, the 2 luggage carts on the back of the property, seemed to have gone trough the African Rally, when I enter the room, it was so small, we could hardly move around without bumping into each other, no microwave, only 2 bath towels that seemed like sand paper, left a note to housekeeper to please leave an extra towel, the request was ignored, and the note was left on the screen of the TV, no way to miss it, the shampoo and conditioner seemed to be purchased from a 99 cent store, my dogs shampoo is better that the one they provided.
I understand that there is different levels of the Best Western Properties, and this one should not be considered as a PLUS property.
I am a Gold Rewards Member, and have stayed in several Best Westerns, and according to the classification, one knows what to expect; In this case, well off base

Room Tip: In this property, apparently, you have to book a suite in order to get a normal size hotel fridge an...

This hotel was recommended to us by family living in Santa Ana. It is in an office park and looks like an office building. We were surprised at check in that our 2 rooms had been upgraded to what seemed to be a double room. We had a separate room with double pocket doors separating the living room from the bed room. There was a sofa sleeper with a couple of tables and a kitchen area. No stove, but with refrig, large sink, cabinets. Bath area needed to be up-dated too.
The bed was very comfortable. The only criticism I could give it would be the dark, out-dated decor. But a comfortable bed is what we needed so that made it a wonderful night.
Good breakfast but a lot of families with kids, probably for Disneyland. Court yard was lovely.

Room Tip: Quieter in the outside not facing the court yard and pool. It's a walk up and rooms all face ou...
