We have Disneyland annual passes and have always stayed at the ayres. They have had a free Disneyland shuttle provided by the hotel, which was awesome! A week before my last stay, they discontinued the shuttle. I tried to find a different hotel closer to the park without luck. The ART shuttle comes to the ayres but it's a good 30 mins till you get to Disneyland and about 30 mins from Disney back to the hotel. Far too long with whiny, tired children in tow. This was also the first time we flew instead of drove so I couldn't just drive ourselves to the park.
Another problem is the maid service. I've had this problem the last two stays. If you don't put the 'do not disturb' sign on your door, they will come in at 8am. It's pretty annoying to get woken up.
The walls are also very thin in this hotel. One morning I heard an alarm going off at 6 (it woke me up out of a dead sleep) and realize it was the next door neighbors. Also heard lots of coughing, doors slamming and talking around 1am. I can usually fall asleep anytime but I couldn't that night.
The free breakfast is great. But during times when it's extremely busy, the manager will stand behind you waiting for you to finish so she can clean your dishes and table for someone else. That was uncomfortable to say the least.
I won't be staying here again.

We stayed here in February for our first trip to Disneyland as a family. I booked it for three reasons: 1) Free Parking 2) Free FULL breakfast and 3) Free shuttle to and from Disneyland. When we got here we were informed that they no longer offered a free shuttle. There is a bus that stops out front that will take you to and from the park, but it will cost ya. The breakfast was OK-still fairly small, but not bad. I do think they could offer more kid type cereals, but the pancakes were appreciated. The staff was friendly, and the rooms were clean.

The ONLY reason I would not return to Ayres is the location and lack of shuttle directly to and from the park. If you stay here, and Disneyland is your goal, keep in mind-if you take the bus, it will take you over 20 minutes to travel 2 miles to the park, and 40 minutes to get back. Also, it only runs every hour, which caused some scheduling issues. (i.e. we have young kids who hit their limit around 9:00, so when the World of Color starts at 8:00, and the bus leaves at 8:30, the time was too tight. We ended up missing the show. Otherwise we'd have to stay at the park till 9:30 just waiting for the bus to come back, which means we wouldn't actually GET to the hotel until after 10:00. Also, my kids wanted to swim in the middle of the day for a bit, but I wasn't about to waste 2 hours of travel time back and forth for an hour of swimming.)

So: Pros-free parking, clean rooms, great deal, free breakfast
Cons-location, transportation to and from Disneyland.
This con may make no difference to you-you may have older kids who can go to the park from sun up to sun down, or you may be planning on parking at Disneyland so the bus isn't an issue. But for me and my family, it's enough to deter us from visiting Ayres again.

Dear Guest
Thank you very much for taking your time to review the Hotel. Yes, unfortunately the Hotel is no longer able to provide a free shuttle to Disneyland and has joined the other Hotels in the area that use the ART (Anaheim Resort Transportation) bus system. Our website has noted this change for some time, but we are finding that anyone who books through Hotels.com, Priceline, Expedia, etc.. are still receiving incorrect information. The Hotel contacted all of the thrid party websites when the change was made but were told that it would take each site 4-6 weeks to correct our shuttle information. The Hotel apologizes for this and continues to contact these sites daily in an effort to correct our information in a timely manner. The ART shuttle does run on an hourly basis during slower weeks at Disneyland but will run on the half hour during busier times such as Spring Break, Summer and Holiday periods.
Thank you for the kind comments regarding breakfast and the Hotel in general.

Based on our previous very positive experience at another Ayres hotels property, we booked a four-day weekend at the Ayres Inn Orange / Disneyland. The visit met and exceeded our expectations, and at a very competitive and affordable rate. We had recreational stops all over the map of Orange County, including the Nixon Presidential Library, whale watching at Balboa, seeing the Crystal Cathedral, seeing the Star Wars exhibit at the Science Center, antique shopping in the city of Orange, and dining out at terrific restaurants. And the Ayres Inn Orange was a short drive to every destination, meaning we did the whole trip from our home in northern L.A. County on a single tank of gas! We will be back!

We were next expecting to be in this area as we were on our way to San Diego. But my husband got sick and ended up being in two different ER's in two days. When I called them at 10:30 pm they were able to book us a room and then were very good to extend our stay for 2 days past that! Room was great!
