“Vintage walking tour”

Live in Orange County but thought this would be fun to do with some girlfriends as I always love visiting Old Town Orange. It was a great way to spend a Saturday morning! Bring an appetite as you are well fed and given some really interesting facts about Orange and surrounding areas. The walking is slow so should not be a deterrent to anyone, including young children. A perfect way to spend time with friends!

“Be a Tourist in your Own Backyard!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 10, 2013

There were 8 of us on the walking tour that started in Ruby's Streamliner Lounge - the old railroad depot, gorgeously transformed into a restaurant, bar, and banquet room. While we ate a great breakfast of cinnamon roll french toast, bacon, and coffee, the manager did a slideshow on the history of Orange and what the railroad meant to the development of Orange County. It was fabulous. Then we went to the Farmer's Market, where there are all sorts of tastes for free (yes, we bought some jams and some delicious bread!) and got some muffins and biscuits from our tour guide, Jody, who was great. We stopped by the historic Vogelsang Home, which was having a benefit, and got to buy some delightful homemade items. Then it was on to tastes of burgers, pizza (Zito's - flaky, yummy, one of the best I've had), grinders, sweet potato fries, chips/chipotle dip and tea, and even a quesadilla. All this, in between stopping in vintage stores and hearing all of the history of our own County. It was a fabulous day and everyone enjoyed it very much. If you live in the area - start exploring your own history! When people come to visit, you have a place to take them that is really dazzling. We've done about 15 food tours around the world, and this one ranks as one of the best. Thanks, Jody! It was a great tour!

“Great Way to Spend the Day”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 7, 2013

My friend and I took the Vintage Orange Food Tour. The tour was 4 hours long and not only included food tastings, but also some history of Orange and a few shopping stops. We had a great time. The food was fabulous at each stop and not just a taste, but a pretty substantial offering. By the end of the tour, we were stuffed. The history of the area was very interesting, and our tour guide, Jody, did a great job giving us inside information on some of the area's unique spots. We had a Living Social deal, which made the event even better!

“quaint and fun”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 29, 2013

A friend and I went on the tour Saturday for her birthday. I LOVE these kinds of tours. I have done a few with Six Taste LA (now out of biz) so I decided to try one locally.

I would recommend getting better priced tickets on Goldstar.com.

We met at the Wells Fargo / Starbucks at 11 and began our tour. It lasted until 2:30ish.

We made stops at: Felix Cuban, Paris in a Cup, The Grinder, The Bite Market, Zito's Pizza, Francoli (my fave), Cafe Lucca, Watson's, and the candy shop.

Linda, our tour guide, as very friendly and funny which helped acquaint everyone much more quickly. She loves her community which makes the tour more fun and cozy.

Overall, we had a great time, and I would recommend this tour to sample the eateries and get a better feel of this gem of a city.

“Second time--and I'll be back!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 28, 2013

Linda was our tour guide this time--knowledgeable, fun, kept it moving--and actually had composed and an original lyric to the Gilligan's Island theme song which she sang for us. Yes, this three hour tour is WAY more fun than those errant sailors had. We had fabulous bites, pasta, soup, margarita pizza, sandwich and sweet potato fries from places like Felix (Cuban), Paris in a Teacup, Francoli (who shared an amazing red wine at $5/glass), The Grinder, Watson's, Zito's (best pizza in the area)--and finishing with luscious gelato from Cafe Lucca. Along the way we visited The Bite for gluten free, lacto-free cookies, the Glassell Gallery for amazing art and equal coffee . . . and more! This is a great outing for couples, to take out of town visitors on, or for a girls' time out. Watch for the GROUPON or Living Social offer, etc.
