Years ago I stayed at a Red Roof Inn in Naperville, IL and to say it was a dump is a compliment. Last Sunday I stayed at the Red Roof Inn in Onatario, CA. As I approached I noted it didn't resemble the ususal cheap architecture of the chain. I walked in and was greeted in a friendly manner in what seemed to be a very clean lobby. On the counter was an award from Trip Advisor reflecting a very high rating. I thought to myself, "we'll see". I later discovered the entire property is almost immaculate. The room was clean and modern and had everything you would expect in a higher-priced chain, e.g., ironing board, iron, hair dryer, fridge, microwave, flat screen TV and comfy bed. They also have a pool. It's within walking distance of several places to eat, and across from the airport.. I hope they continue to earn accolades.

Room Tip: Check in and check it out.

This hotel had the convenience of transportation e.g. airport and train shuttle. It was clean and cheap. Yes, there is the noise of the trains and planes. It is close to a train station and the airport. If you are a light sleeper, then you will not get any sleep here. I appreciated the friendliness of the staff. Overall, great for a quick trip, but not a recommendation if you are staying for pleasure.

I stayed here with a large group recently. As one of the primary contacts for the group, I was in constant contact with the Red Roof staff, and was always treated with the upmost manner. My group had many requests..in which The Red Roof Ladies were always willing and happy to accommodate!! So they don't have a full-service breakfast, and they do have the unfortunate circumstance of being next to a Railroad...but Red Roof's top notch friendliness, service, cleanliness, and connivence's make for an easy and nice stay...not to mention...it's easy on the wallet, and has undergone some recent remodeling.... I recommend!

Room Tip: Request to be street side!

The best thing about this place is the price. Rooms are spartan but clean and adequate (though I was surprised there was no alarm clock). Location is also good if you're leaving from ONT at the crack of dawn like I was. I have to echo other reviewers' comments about the noise from trains and lack of a real breakfast (though there was certainly adequate coffee when I was there at 6:15am). If train noise (the tracks are right on the other side of the parking lot and trains are frequent) bothers you be sure to ask for a room on the north side. Not sure if that will be quiet but it would have to be better. There is a small pool in the parking lot on the train side that only an oblivious child could love (and some did). Free parking and free wifi.

My girlfriends and I were spending the night to attend Road to Calif. We stayed here because the price was right. In this case you get what you pay for. Our rooms were right next to train tracks so between the freight trains that went by every 2 hours and had to blow their whistle every time they went through and the airplanes that took off until midnight the night was more sleepless than you can imagine. Staff at front desk was always not available so after waiting 5 minutes we gave up. There were not enough hand towels in our room and were given additional face cloths because the laundry was not done! One of our rooms also had a dresser drawer that would not stay closed. Breakfast was two empty coffee pots, decaf was full, watered down OJ and cranberry juice and prepackaged cream cheese danishes, thank goodness there was a Jack-in-the-box next door.

Room Tip: Make sure your room is on north side as rooms on south side are next to train tracks and airport.

It is unfortunate to hear of the experience you had during your stay at our property, and thank you for your feedback as it will help us in better preparing our staff. I will have a meeting with all staff members so that this does not happen again to any of our guests. Please accept our aplogies and we hope you will be able to give us another opportunity at showing you all the improvements we have made since your last stay.
