I am a business traveler and have stayed in many hotels. This it the first time I have been compelled to write an unfavorable review because the management was literally unresponsive to a discussion about the issues I encountered at the BW Ontario facility on Shelby. My room, faced the freeway and smelled of marijuana but the receptionist gladly moved me. The second room was good but bath stall had hair in it. All in all, the room itself was okay. Here are the problems I encountered: The hotel advertises it has a restaurant and bar but both are closed for renovations which was not posted on the website. There are no eating establishments close by and the safety of the area is slightly questionable. There is also supposed to be a hot tub which I normally enjoy, but that was closed too. The elevator was not working, so I had to schlep all of my luggage upstairs. I needed to do a load of laundry and asked for quarters at the front desk and was told they had none for their coin operated machines. Okay, so these are just annoyances so far. Day 2: Picked up a cup of coffee in the lobby at around 0630....cold as can be. I go to my meetings for the day and return around 4PM and the room had not been cleaned. I advise the receptionist then went to the front counter to ask for a manager to talk about the problems. I was told she would be right with me. Not only did a manager NOT come to see me, it took nearly an hour for housekeeping to just bring me shampoo and towels....no offer to clean the room, no manager to talk to... nothing. This whole fiasco could have been mitigated with a quick conversation and maybe an apology but this BW site does not seem to value the customer so I wanted to write a warning for others. Hopefully, this BW hotel gets its stuff together and the management realizes there are other options for consumers. I do have to say that the BW near the convention center in Long Beach was OUTSTANDING (I had to stay there for a few nights on the same trip).
