“Early start to ski season”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 30, 2011

I use my timeshare week every winter to scope out the various resorts before deciding on a season pass. It's always a pleasure to stay and is just minutes to all my favorite resorts. With all the upgrades coming to squaw valley, staying at red wolf lodge is only going to get better and better. The staff are supper helpful, and the rooms are always well stocked for a week long stay

Room Tip: All the rooms are the same, just different sizes depending on your needs. Exactly what you'd exp...

My daugher and I went on a two day getaway after Thanksgiving. We had never stayed at Red Wolf Lodge and we are glad we did! The staff was warm, friendly and informed about Squaw Valley and the surrounding area.

We stayed in a studio. It was very comfortable, clean and decorated with an updated cabin like scheme. It was completely stocked with dishes and the appliances were all new and working.

We had a great view of the ski slopes and enjoyed visiting Squaw Village where we shopped and had great pizza and pasta at Fireside Pizza. This is a very family friendly and safe place to stay. In fact, all the staff throughout Squaw was great.

We would recommend the Red Wolf Lodge to friends and family traveling solo or in groups

The view from my room was beautiful and I watched the sun rise every morning. All of the front line staff that I came in contact with were friendly and helpful. The resort is kid friendly and has games, movies and sleds that you can borrow during your stay. The 2 bedroom unit housed five of us comfortably with adequate storage for all of our clothes. The bathrooms appeared to be recently remodeled and they were stocked with plenty of towels. The beds were comfortable - even the sofa bed. My children loved the gas fireplace in the living room and spent the evenings in front of it.

My wife and I stayed here for a week in October 2011. The staff was extremely friendly!! The rooms were very clean!! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!! The whole atmosphere here made us feel very welcome. Diana at the front desk was great! She gave us some good hiking and dinner recommendations. Rachel, the general manager, was also extremely helpful!! Everyone always greeted us with a smile. On Monday they had a complimentary pancake breakfast. It was a good opportunity to meet the staff and other guests. On Friday there was a wine and cheese get together in the lobby. Also a nice way to unwind . . . Great location!! Easy to get to Truckee or Lake Tahoe. Ask for the CD that narrates your drive around the lake. We would definitely stay here again!!

Room Tip: Just ask at the front desk. They will accommodate your request if they can. Ask for a higher floor i...

Beautiful area, there was so much hiking, biking and site seeing it was hard to get it all in. Resort is going through renovations, we were lucky enough to get one of the condos that was already renovated. Nice bed, kitchent fully stocked and bbqs on the site. One hot tub wasn't working and the fire pit was not on.

Resort staff extremely friendly and helpful. We had our condo cleaned three times. Nice pancake breakfast on the Monday and wine and cheese on the Wednesday.

We own a week at the Red Wolf Lodge at Squaw Valley, along with several other timeshares. We have traded all the other weeks for other vacations, but never trade this one. It is always a wonderful vacation. From the serenity of Squaw Valley, to the gambling on the Nevada side, it has everything you want. The village has food and entertainment, grocery stores and other needs are available just up the road in Truckee. The Red Wolf Lodge is a hidden treasure. The rooms are great, along with the view. Full Kitchens, fully stocked (not food). There are great hiking trails everywhere. Olympic skiing. Lifts to the top of the mountain with resturant, ice skating, etc. Great vacation.

Room Tip: There are no bad rooms. One side has a view of the valley, the other a view of the mountains.

It would be the coziest hotel in the winter...I would absolutely come back for snow season. There is still a ton of adventure in the off season. The only problem is that other people don't know that so its empty up there! They have bikes for people to use and it's only six miles from Tahoe City! Full kitchens and a great fireplace with a timer. Diana at the front desk is so great!
