“Absolutely amazing place.”
Reviewed March 14, 2013

went here for the weekend with a group from work.
food was great, staff was super helpful, rooms were amazing, and the skiing was off the hook.
spa onsite is great, jacuzzi's were a welcome after hard day on the slopes, and not to mention the pub was pretty hopping after hours

Overall great place, people, food, and good times.. what else are we here for ?

Room Tip: get the fireplace suite, super comfy.

Our company took over the Resort at Squaw Creek for a three-day, two-night retreat, and the staff ably handled the capacity crowd. A short shuttle ride from the Village, the Resort boasts impressive views and well-maintained facilities. We had a standard double-double room on the third floor which had plenty of space for two people, and we appreciated the well-stocked kitchenette after a day of skiing. Unfortunately, the room was also quite noisy due to its proximity to the elevators. We could hear conversations in the hallway and footsteps in the adjacent stairwell clearly throughout the night. I look forward to returning but next time will request a quieter room at checkin time.

This was my THIRD and likely last time to this resort. Other two times were good experiences but the place is showing its age and has succumbed to the arrogance of the Squaw Valley because of its location. I share the last reviewers feelings about price, parking and the food.
The front desk help was about as disinterested as it gets. Not friendly at all on check in especially that woman from Bucks County PA. Another time in lobby had question and front desk staff was eating with mouthful.
The room was dirty on check in, with trash on the floor and empty beer bottles on the deck. Left early was initially present with bill for 2 nights and signed it, then at last minute presented with additional 2 night charge because I was leaving early. Staff not apologetic or offered and compensation. Just eat the cost buddy attitude. Hey Squaw Creek. With all the great skiing in Tahoe, who have done at excellent job at making sure I book my next visit to Northstar.

Dear Sir/Madam,

My name is Nate Los and I am the Front Office Manager at Resort at Squaw Creek. The place is great and has everything that a snowboarder wants, but at an unreasonably high price. $300 a night, $30 valet, free parking is a 20 minute walk. Food at the resort is not great and overpriced. The resort is rather far from the village, ( The main slopes). The overall value is disappointing. The people working there are not too friendly. Looks like they are just drones, can't wait to be done with their shift.

Room Tip: Don't get the rooms on the second floor, they next to the owners lockers and day and night peopl...

The Resort at Squaw Creek is a perfect weekend. The hotel offers a whole world of fun for yourself and your family.

Skiing from the reosrt is convenient and spectacular. Best of all if someone in the family tires, they are not sitting in the lodge waiting for everyone else, they are back safe and happy at the hotel. Staying slopeside is expensive, but we love the flexibility it offers our family.

Plus, the resort has sledding, hiking and swimming in a heated pool on the property. We are almost always outside at the resort and everything is perfect.

We always feel like we have had a real vacation -- more than just a weekend away -- after a stay here.

Room Tip: Fireplace suites are great for a family.

2 night stay over California winter break, so fairly crowded. Rooms nice, could use updated lamps, a little dated in general. Great shower heads, comfortable beds. For skiers, very convenient equipment rental on property (no advance reservation but not needed) and frequent free shuttle to adjoining Squaw Valley and Alpine ski areas. One chair lift right o property to Squaw but it goes to blue diamond intermediate run at top (a little steep for green circle beginners). Equipment people excellent and helpful.

Areas to improve - coffee in lobby in morning usually stops when deli opens at 7:00 am, but that actually opened twice well past 7:00. Pizza restaurant great food but charges automatic 15% tip but credit card receipt (pay up front when ordering at desk) does not alert you and has a place for tip. You discover it when you get the final bill after you've added a second tip. Tiny sign on overhead menu mentions it-had manager go through hassle of deleting tip and rebilling; suggested alerting customers up front rather than sneak an additional tip in for ~ 30% tip per order. Front desk clerks are not particularly enthusiastic about providing information or helping. Ski equipment return is a hassle if you do not take the shuttle that drops you off near facility. We took car and had to walk equipment through lobby down stairs -- big hassle due to structural layout of access roads.

Thank you for your review of Resort at Squaw Creek. I will discuss your comment regarding tip with our Mountain Pizzeria managers. Of course, it should be clear about the tip -- certainly no need to double tip. Also, I noticed your comment regarding ski rental equipment. I wish we had caught you on property with this issue, since we would have been able to quickly resolve it for you. For anyone driving their own vehicle to the base of Squaw or another local resort, please know that our valet and bell staff is always happy to assist with equipment return to the rental shop from the porte cochere. All you need to do is stop adjacent to the lobby and our staff will assist you to bring the equipment to the rental shop.

We hope to see you for another Squaw Valley ski trip soon. If you have any questions, please let us know at guestexperience@squawcreek.com.

Respectfully,

Marc Sapoznik

Our first time to stay at Resort at Squaw. The place was clean, superb, and the staff were very happy and helpful. This place has plenty to offer to everyone. We stayed only for two nights and had a wonderful time. The Ski lift from this resort makes it so much easier to minimize your travel time from your hotel to the ski area. The Jacuzzi and the pool was great during the cold February month. Because of its convenient you see lots of families with small children. Our only problem was the noise from a crying baby next door. However we were able to change our room and we were ok after that. Other than this we had a wonderful time at this resort and will definitely go back again.
