Our first time to stay at Resort at Squaw. The place was clean, superb, and the staff were very happy and helpful. This place has plenty to offer to everyone. We stayed only for two nights and had a wonderful time. The Ski lift from this resort makes it so much easier to minimize your travel time from your hotel to the ski area. The Jacuzzi and the pool was great during the cold February month. Because of its convenient you see lots of families with small children. Our only problem was the noise from a crying baby next door. However we were able to change our room and we were ok after that. Other than this we had a wonderful time at this resort and will definitely go back again.

Excellent resort with lots of things to do besides skiing or snowboarding. The have dog sled teams, snowshoes or cross country skiing, skating and all ice sports like broom ball. There is a family games room with ping pong, foosball and board games, an electrontic games room with wall to wall video games. Pool thats heated for the winter with three hot tub and warm comfy robes for guests. Our time there was overall very good.

Ok now the negative stuff.....
Our front desk agent was not very inviting and seemed burnt out. Her interaction with us seem very forced and we just felt like we were a pain to her. She said she would call us when our room was ready and didnt, so after over an hour we returned and checked with another who gave us our room keys. I do feel I should mention the one male staff member who was going home for the day I believe and insisted on taking my bag up the stairs from the parking lot to the front door, awesome service there. So one real negative experience and one amazing one.
The restaurant that serves pizza and pasta adds a gratuity on when you pay upfront and they screwed up our order by not bringing our drinks and did not include chicken to our pasta which is an additional charge of $6.00. Not that much but when you are forced to pay a tip and have bad service...its sucks.

The Pub was fantastic with great food and amazing staff, fun loving and easy going. Overall I was happy with the stay and would recomend this resort to family and friends. Family because there were lots of children all over the resort, dogs too.

Room Tip: A room that faces the valley instead of the forest might have an amazing view, but might not be as quiet.

We are glad that you chose Resort at Squaw Creek for your Lake Tahoe vacation. In particular, we are pleased to hear that you enjoyed the vast array of amenities and activities available. In respect to your comments regarding our front desk staff, we apologize that you did not receive a call when your room was ready. That is not indicative of the service standards that we have at the resort, and we will follow up with our front desk team. Also, if you did not receive what your ordered in Mountain Pizzeria, I would personally like to hear from you. Please feel free to contact me at guestexperience@squawcreek.com.

We hope to see you next time you are considering a Lake Tahoe vacation, be it summer or winter.

Respectfully,

Marc Sapoznik

Just spent three night at the Resort at Squaw Creek. The check-in staff person was completely unwelcoming and it must be contagious because a different person at check-out was equally unfriendly. Can't say the same for the valets as all we encountered were gracious. The hotel is starting to show a bit of age especially compared to the their newest competitors at Northstar. The ski valet was a nice perk, but we had long waits for collecting/returning our equipment two of the three days we skied. Dinner at Six Peaks was very nice and their wine selections actually affordable. Overall, a nice, convenient hotel but definitely not worth the four star price.

Room Tip: If you upgrade to a valley-view, be sure to request 4th or 5th floor otherwise your view is mostly the roof below.

From the valet to the front desk to room service to the bar the service at this resort is professional and exceptional. Genuinely polite and helpful, even with loads and loads of ski gear. This resort gives you the "real" Tahoe experience with floor-to-ceiling windows in the lobby that grant spectacular views across the meadows onto the mountains. Take a seat in the plush chairs next to a boulder-mantle roaring fireplace and take in the scenery. You can also take in multiple outdoor firepits, expansive ice rink, lovely free form pool, quite a few spas (open year-round even on the coldest nights), waterfalls pouring over mounds of ice-laden boulders and more.

The room we had was very nice. The bedroom was spacious enough for two and the living room had a lovely fireplace and pull-out couch. The kitchen had a dishwasher, stove and small frig but no oven. The microwave was just fine, however. Plenty of cabinet space.

The bath was very large with double sinks, granite countertops, a large tub and shower.

You can ski right out to the slopes, but only two (I believe it was only two slopes). Don't quote me on that. Please check the map. Most of the slopes at Squaw are a short shuttle ride up the way, still on property. The village at Squaw has plenty of shops and restaurants to keep adults and kids happy. The village also has multiple outdoor patios with roaring fires and plenty of seating literally at the foot of the mountain where you can watch the lifts and funitel (gondola) soar upward and skiers descend from every direction.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that faces the meadow and the mountain, and not the parking lot (although the parking lot views also overlook hills and trees, so they are not bad at all).

Incredible place to stay! Would highly recommend it to anyone. I don't even ski or snowboard and I still had a blast. Sandy's Pub is amazing. We had nacho's for lunch when we first arrived and went then back for dinner. Their calamari is top notch and the pepper bacon burger is one of the best I've ever had. We stayed in a deluxe fireplace suite and the room was great. It had some amenities you wouldn't expect in a hotel, such as a pull out queen bed, dishwasher, and a microwave. During the early evening they had a DJ outside of the sports shop that was playing some good music. I got a great deal on the room and had an awesome stay. I'll be back, that's for sure!

Room Tip: Be prepared to pay a resort fee and don't be a lazy bum. Park your own car to save on valet fees!
