“Large, spacious, comfortable home with lots of amenities.”

This beautiful, family-friendly Tahoe home is centered between Truckee and Tahoe City. It is a large, comfortable home with many nice upgrades (vaulted ceilings, large open windows, top ranked kitchen appliances, downstairs game room, etc.). There are numerous things to enjoy close by: shopping, dining, beaches, bike riding, hiking, rafting down the Truckee, etc. We really enjoyed the outdoor market in Truckee, which is every Thursday beginning at 5pm. Plan on having dinner there.
I think it's important to mention that this is a multi-level home with lots of steps. My Mom and Dad who are 79 years old managed just fine. Also, the home is right off of Hwy. 89, so you do hear a bit of traffic noise, but the evenings were quiet. I highly recommend this home and the location. It's just minutes away from Squaw Valley Resort, where the winter Olympics were held. The owner Kevin was very pleasant and quick to respond. We will definitely rent again.

“Perfect Spot for Family Reunion/ Multi-aged group”

This property was such a blessing to our extended family. We had 4 families comprised of seniors, middle-aged young adults, young children and 2 dogs.

House:
*- There are three and a half levels to the house- the main/ entry level, the split level upstairs (the master is a few steps above the level of the other bedrooms) and the rec/room/garage level. This could be a challenge for people with disabilities or younger children.
*-The great room/ main level is large, open and bright. Perfect for gathering as a large group- between the sofas around the cozy fireplace and large dining table- there's plenty of room for everyone to congregate.
*-The bedrooms are modest and simply furnished. One of the bedrooms that has the twin is very small and feels more like a closet, but between the master and the three bedrooms with queens upstairs we were all set for the older members of our group. Overall, the sleeping arrangements were more utilitarian than luxurious but for our group it was just fine, the outdoors and the wonderful views in the common area were calling us from the moment we awoke.
*- The 2.5 bathrooms on the upper levels were updated and clean. The bathroom in the rec room is a bit smaller but perfect for the younger members of the group.
*- The kitchen had everything we needed to cook and store food. The range is beautiful and has nice strong burners. The dishwasher, microwave and oven were all in great shape as well.
*- The downstairs rec room with the ping pong table, poker table, tv, bunk beds, and futon with a separate bathroom were perfect for the young adults and children to gather and frolic without disturbing the seniors relaxing overhead on the main level.

Location:

*- The property is right off the highway and across the Truckee river and with owner's notes on directions was easy to find.

*- There are no immediate walking areas to access from the property without crossing the highway- which can be very dangerous- but Squaw Valley is less than a 5 minute drive with access to the Truckee River Trail in addition to all the amenities at Olympic Valley.

*- Lake Tahoe is a short 15 minute car ride away

*- There is plenty of space to park in front of the house in addition to the two spaces in the garage.

Owner:

*- The owner, Kevin, was incredibly responsive and accommodating.
*- He was flexible with the needs of our group and very accessible.

Our family was unanimous in wanting to return to this property again in the future.

“The perfect mountain home”
Reviewed May 24, 2016 for a stay in January 2016

I've stayed in this home for two years now for a four month stint January - April with a group of friends. For two years my group reaches the end of the four months and reflects on how perfect a home it is. Comfortable, well taken care of, beautiful and in an amazing Tahoe location. It's particularly great for groups due to the many bedrooms, bathrooms and ample room for cars, parking is really hard to come by in some neighborhoods in Tahoe.
The bedrooms are all spacious and comfortable with ample closet space. There's plenty of room to unpack and make yourself feel at home. Each room gets good sunlight as they're all outfitted with big windows. The many bathrooms make it easy for a bigger group to never have to wait too long for a bathroom to open or to use the shower. Although everyone will fight for the beautiful master bathroom shower.
The main floor has a kitchen and dining table that is perfect for those who want to come and cook big meals and commune. The kitchen can fit multiple chefs and sous-chefs preparing meals, and there are plenty of cooking supplies and a huge stovetop. The open floorplan connects the living room area and dining table so that you can have simultaneous cooking and hanging out by the fire.
As a group of skiers one of the best parts is the main floor where there's a garage for tuning skis, a mudroom for stashing skis/poles and other gear, and a big rec room for keeping boots warm. The rec room is not only functional, but fun with a ping pong table and card table.
The deck outside the frontdoor is a beautiful space to hang out and enjoy the surroundings of massive pine trees, as the house is right at the edge of the Tahoe National Forest, instead of looking in neighbors windows, you just have nature around you.
It's ideally situated, only a 5-7 minute drive from the base of Squaw, 10 minute drive from Alpine and 20 minutes to Tahoe City or Truckee. The Truckee River is right across the street if you want to go for walks.
One of the best parts of this house is waking up in the solitude of the mountains, making a cup of coffee and looking out the massive picture window at unobstructed views of the mountain on the other side of the valley.
To top off a perfect house, the owner is wonderful to deal with. He's quick, efficient, friendly and makes the process feel easy.

“Love this Cabin!”
Reviewed August 5, 2015 for a stay in July 2015

We needed a place to stay that would sleep many for my Sons wedding. I'm grateful to have found this wonderful cabin. The owners, Kevin and Kathy, are very nice and honest people to work with. My husband forgot his suitcase when we left and so I called Kevin and he immediately got to work to get us our luggage shipped home(at our expense of course)! The cabin is very roomy. We hosted a luncheon for the wedding and had 35 people there eating. There was plenty of room in the kitchen and a nice long table and plenty of room to visit and converse. Downstairs has LOTS of room and games to play! The atmosphere is awesome sitting out on the deck with the fun waterfall and the great smell of the Pinetrees!! This place is SUPER close to Tahoe City and all the fun activities and little towns around there. I definitely will rent this place again!
*There is only 4 bedrooms however. The ADD mentions 5, so I planned for 5 rooms, so this is the only thing that threw me off a bit. Downstairs has a hole in the wall with a twin bunk bed. This worked out okay, but would have been nice to know ahead of time.

Liked best: How roomy it was
Liked least: That it only had 4 bedrooms instead of 5, and the couch hadn't been vacuumed after pets had been on it previously.

“Tahoe Family Retreat Paradise!”
Reviewed July 26, 2015 for a stay in July 2015

Our family came from 7 different states to stay for a week in this beautiful Tahoe get-away. The home was private and spacious with great separation of space, especially with a baby who napped in daytime and woke early while the rest of us slept in. in reverse, the late night noise from the lower level recreation room never bothered the new family. Location off the main lake road, across the road from camp site and river walk and so close to Squaw Mtn was ideal. Tahoe offers something for everyone to do and we could access it all easily from the house. The place was very well stocked for cooking and sleeping. We used every towel and sheet provided and everyone had a place to sleep. We even put an air mattress in the small office space to give one of our guests a bit more privacy. Views from home, rock wall, fireplace, and tasteful decorating all added to the sense of a quality vacation. Would do again in a heartbeat!

“Majestic cabin close to Squaw with exquisite views!”
Reviewed July 15, 2015 for a stay in July 2015

I was up here with my extended family for a Summer weekend in Tahoe. It is a very spacious cabin and very well lit with natural lighting through the large windows in the living room. The house has 4 bedrooms which are all well appointed and a large gaming room in the basement with plenty of activities for kids and adults alike. The cabin is a very short drive to Squaw Valley, up to Truckee, and down to the lake in Tahoe City. We definitely plan to be back here in the coming years.
