“Unbeatable mountains and views”
Reviewed September 8, 2012

Okay, okay, okay, around Squaw Valley it’s mainly a ski area - but the mountains surrounding the valley with the Granite Chief Wilderness and beyond are also just simply breathtaking for hiking and horseback riding. The views from, say Emerald Pass with the memorial monument on the peak are a thrilling 360° sensaround panoramic vista with Lake Tahoe laid out at your feet far, far below. This is a stunning, amazing alpine world and you simply feel on top of the world up there. So it's highly recommendable all year round, not only for skiers.
