The ride to high camp on the gondola and swimming at the pool was a must do once in a lifetime experience. We saw eagles and hawks on the way up plus got a sort history lesson from the gondola driver. Even though the weather was nice prepare for it being chilly on top and wear layers. Bring your own beach towels if you can because theirs are skimpy. We got two each, we purchased an additional but they are paper thin. Also it wasn't cheap (we found discount tickets at Truckee Thursdays but it was too late) but you really have to do it once. Kids rates were more reasonable.

A trip to High Camp is well worth the cost because of the ride you must take to get there. The Olympic museum was cool to see and roller skating was fun. The views are pretty spectacular, as well as to see a ski resort completely naked without the snow.

Squaw village offers everything. We spent 3 days during the mid-week and never had a down moment. Sunday evening there was a great art show. Monday we went biking around the valley. Tuesday up the tram for swimming, hiking, spectacular views, and a great lunch. Tuesday evening, the Blues Tuesday concert was free and awesome!

Spent our last day in Lake Tahoe area at High Camp in Squaw Valley, couldn't have asked for a better ending to our wonderful vacation. High Camp has everything! A thrilling tram ride up the moutain face....the landscape is breathtakingly beautiful, full of huge boulders precariously placed and trees jutting out of odd places. We saw a magnificent red-tailed hawk from ABOVE, that doesn't happen often! Then we alit to High Camp, there was hiking, swimming (loved the pool), hot tub, bar and restaurant and roller skating (we didn't partake in the rink) and a museum of the history of Squaw Valley. I found the information regarding the 1960 Olympics fascinating! I can only imagine what it would be like to be at High Camp when it is wrapped in snow.
