“surprising, newly renovated”

We stopped here one evening after leaving Lassen National Park on June17th, 2013. From the outside the motel looks old and questionable as far as staying overnight. But inside it has been redone, freshly painted, new furniture, new beds, and refrigerator. Even had a nice dinette set for us to have breakfast on. The room was large and clean.
We would definitely stay here again if we were in the area. It is handy to Lassen, only 20 minutes from the north entrance.

Room Tip: we had the upstairs two queen beds room.

We stayed overnight 6/30/13 without a reservation in an a-frame camper, space #44. We had a full hookup site but they also have primitive sites and one of those would have been just fine. All sites seem to have nice big fireplaces. There isn't much grass around, all the sites are in the trees and dirt. The creek is very pretty and we walked along it for a while at sunset. The showering facilities were clean and the water was hot. We talked to a few people staying there and everyone was friendly. The place was very quiet too.

Our first trip here in a 5th wheel. Office staff was great. Mike led us to our site and helped us with placing the trailer. Site #20 is probably the best RV site in the park. Will come again. Great time and place.

We needed a place to stay after a long day in Lassen National Park. Since we don't have camping equipment we got a motel room at Hat Creek. We chose the junior suite with king bed. It was extremely clean and roomy. The bed was okay but then we were so tired we could have slept on a rock! Like many, many motels it could stand a new, light colored bedspread! We had the second floor, back unit, with windows we could see out of if we stood up. Nice and private. It had a small fridge, microwave and directTV. The bathroom had lots of towels and three heat lamps!

We went into Burney to see the falls in the late evening. Great sight! Ate at Art's Outpost, in Burney, before returning to Hat Creek. We recommend Art's. In the morning my husband went to the small snack bar at the motel, and got an egg burrito and a breakfast sandwich (think egg McMuffin), both of which were good.

Hat Creek has been our family's yearly vacation destination for 20+ years. Our grandchildren have many a fond memory in the last 8 years. This is a very relaxing fun place. The managers Don & Joyce are the best ever so kind cheerful and accommodating. The office staff are friendly & knowledgeable. Housekeeping and groundskeepers the best!! We look forward to coming here every year. Thank you for making our vacation so pleasant.. Oh by the way the fishing is awesome..haha

This was our 3rd trip here in the last 12 months. All 3 times we had a wonderful time. Came for the first time just after new management took over. All the staff has always been very friendly and helpful. We stayed in our RV on one of the "on creek" sites. All the sites where "groomed" and VERY clean when we arrived. They have a great little shop with snacks, drinks and the essentials, and deli style food with burgers, dogs, and ice cream. Love the fact they have Horse stable areas so you can bring your horse, camp right next to your horse stable (dry camping) and go riding out the back of the camp on the trails including the Pacific Crest Trail. Fishing is great right there in the camp (Great and easy for the little ones) and it's a short drive up to the Burney area (25-30 minutes) where you can fish the "trophy" sections of Hat Creek and MORE. There are many places within a 10 minute drive to fish as well. Love this place. Can't wait to go back next summer.

Room Tip: All the RV sites are great and each has some sort of advantage to it depending on what you like.

We stayed there June 7 thru the10 2013 it was nice and clean and we caught lots of fish. When we arrived they lead us thru to our campsite and the guy helped my husband backup to our campsite. They kept the garbage dumped and when people left there site they raked it up nice. They also had a story time and they read to your child and she walked them back to there campsite. We will come back and tell all of our friends. At nite you can hear the creek it was so relaxing. Well worth the extra to stay by the creek it was like 15 steps to put your fishing pole in and catch a big one.

Room Tip: The Creekside camp sites are all worth the extra money.
