I've dined at the Oak Grill at Ojai Valley Inn & Spa probably ten times in the past 10 years, always for lunch. There's no other restaurant in Ojai where you can dine alfresco, overlooking a beautiful golf course spotted with majestic oaks, enormous eucalyptus, and acres of beautifully landscaped grounds. Stunningly beautiful. I only wish the food impressed me as much as the setting. Unfortunately, the food is nothing special and a bit overpriced.
The quality of food seems to have declined over the years. I almost always order their equivalent of a club sandwich (which they call a BLT&A). The menu describes the sandwich as having "sliced turkey", but nowadays they really only give you a couple paper thin pieces of processed, packaged lunch meat. At $18 you should get genuine sliced turkey on your sandwich -- just as their menu implies.
On a nice day, the Oak Grill is a beautiful place to relax and enjoy the golf course view. The service is also generally friendly and accommodating. But, don't expect to be equally impressed by the quality of the food.
