Description: For more than ninety years, Ojai Valley Inn & Spa has evolved with the times but throughout it all, The Inn has maintained a connection to its locality – especially through its food. Olivella represents the epitome of this sense of place. A restaurant in Ojai Valley with refined simplicity; showcasing the best each season has to offer, suitable for any occasion. Olivella’s valley-to-table culinary program is supported by the local Ojai valleys, ranches, orchards, farms and ocean waters. We embrace the seasonal whims of the region, focusing on the bounty of year-round produce provided by the California Central Coast. Chef Andrea Rodella is proud to present a dining experience featuring the best ingredients of California with dishes and techniques inspired by his Italian heritage.

What a great restaurant! Had a couple of drinks in the bar before that and then sat down for dinner. I had the trout, very good indeed, portions were a perfect size. My mother had the beef which she completely finished (that is very unusual for her). Service was prompt and professional and the atmosphere was elegant yet not overstated. Loved the fireplace in the dining room which made it also quite cozy. Dessert was a treat, had a taste of all and the apple crumb cake was just to die for

This review is specifically about the Mother's Day brunch they have every year.

My family has gone here every year for the past five years for Mother's Day, ever since I stayed at the OVI on business and loved the place. It's been our tradition, complete with a record of our daughters growing up, in pictures with the beautiful backdrop of the OVI, all dressed up in their Mother's Day best.

Unfortunately the quality of the buffet had been steadily declining. Five years ago everything was fresh and there was a wonderful variety of tasty dishes that were a delight to try. This year (sadly our last year coming back here) the selection was mediocre and many of the items were over cooked. Vegetables were mushy and the salmon was cooked dry. The desserts seemed like those kinds they have at Christmas time at Costco. The prime rib was pretty good, but at $75 a person ($35 for kids, up to 12 yo I think) you expect every item to be high quality.

The service was very good, the staff was friendly and helpful, and of course the setting is delightful. It's just a shame that the quality has slipped so badly.

My wife and I decided to go and have a relaxing weekend so we decided to stay here on property for our getaway mini vacation. The staff here are always smiling and very courteous.

The manager Nikki and our server Karine were the best in Maravilla.

The food was one of the best that we've ever had, and I travel a lot for business. But the most memorable highlight to our dinner was the dessert. If you love chocolate, then you have to try the pastry chef's Chocolate Cake. At first we thought that it would be overly sweet, like the "one bite and push the rest away" type of cake, but we were so wrong. It was this slice of cake sitting on it's side with some bruleed bananas. The chocolate cake was moist and although it had the chocolate flavor, it wasn't too sweet. Then the layer of banana custard was flavored well. Then the pastry chef added some crunchy hazelnut and lightly salted dark chocolate filling (my wife's favorite). The flavors all blended so well together and tasted so good.

After a few minutes had gone by, my wife and I looked down and couldn't believe that nothing was left on the plate. What a shame!!!

We will DEFINATELY come back for this Chocolate Cake!!!!

Just tried the new menu of the new chef and it's about time, the dry aged oak smoked Prime Rib with truffle oil butter and 3 times cook fries made it for me. The heirloom tomato app was a great starter, the tomatoes are grown on site. It was paired with excellent local wines that David the Restaurant Managed selected, can't wait to go back

The best in Ojai and compares with the best in California. Food & Wine was first class and the service was genuine, highly recommended for all.
