The Emerald iguana is a four start property that knows it's a four star resort in a five star setting. I recommend EI for getting away and working on a project, rekindling romance, or just forgetting about your life in Los Angeles and relaxing.

The Resort grounds are exquisite: cottages and villas that are very tastefully decorated! all unique in their own right. The pool size is just right for a bed and breakfast and the hot tub was warm and inviting. The resort is nestled in an area where an array of our feathered brethen provide some musical accomneyment to your novel or card game. Squirrels abound and a resident/non resident cat! (The feline is not the resorts but a neighboring cat that likes to hang out here). Plenty of trees complete the ambience.

Our room was cricket and it's a failsafe. Situated in the back of the property (which is a good thing considering the gravel parking lot encircling the front of the resort) and it was two stories. Complimentary internet, four patios (yup), full kitchen stocked with every appliance you could want (unless you demand the Keurig), and so e comforting other amenities.

Breakfast is served, rather placed, poolside. You don't have the option to have anything cooked to order here or really anything hot. If you have any proteins or meat for breakfast you are out of luck here. The breakfast was well stocked with all sorts of decent teas, coffees, and chocolates. Breads and fruit are abundant as well. Other than the pool, this is pretty truly the extent of the B And B. Service is casual and friendly, which I guess is what the owners want and the ladies who run the resort seem to do a good job of staying casual. Don't expect any "of course sir, or yes sir" or even to be called by your last name, you are in Ojai remember.

The staff is alright. We saw them at check in and never saw them until we left again the following day. We were briskley walked to our room and when we asked about breakfast we were told merely "don't worry, it's nice". I don't remember who walked us over but they explained in rote fashion a bit about the amenities of the room/resort. EI also promised to call us when the room was ready since we arrived early but they did not end up calling.

All in all, a true four star resort that tries to be a four start resort! Value is decent at approx $250 a night. Mid week should be cheaper but their occupancy seemed high so I digress.

Room Tip: Cricket room is worth it if available!

The Emerald Iguna is perfect if you are looking for peace and quiet. The grounds are beautiful, the pool and hot tub relaxing, the staff very kind and tentative. An easy walk into town for shopping and great food. Suzanne's and Cafe Emporium for breakfast are a must!

The Emerald Iguana Inn exceeded all of our expectations. We'd never been there before, but it was absolutely perfect! We stayed in the Cricket Cottage, it was such a warm and welcoming two-story with all the comforts of home. We had two balconies and our own enclosed patio which made it easy to watch the squirrels. The staff is amazing and the property is very private and lush. We are already looking forward to our next visit!!

Room Tip: We loved having our own cottage. Each room and/or suite has it's own unique charm and personali...

After a grueling day of visiting galleries, shopping at the Farmer's Market, dining in one of the numerous delicious restaurants and a local round of golf...The Emerald Iguana is a welcome oasis from the laid-back paradise known as Ojai. Six visits to this beautifully landscaped little inn and we can't wait to get back for number seven. All rooms and suites are well appointed and extremely comfortable. The complimentary breakfast is way more than one might expect and the staff is always courteous and efficient.

We picked the hotel from on line reviews and were absolutely enthralled! What a great little hotel. Secluded location but blocks form the Ojai action and with absolutely adorable rooms. Very comfortable bed and other pleasant amenities including an enclosed private patio. The pool area is very pleasant with a great light breakfast served each morning. We stayed in the Tadpole room, another couple in the back to back adjoining room(forget the name) which worked well for socializing for my birthday girl. Only negative is recommendation not to stay in the Grasshopper room, or room above it. Our third couple could hear every activity in the bath room and apparently vice-versa for the couple upstairs. We will definitely stay there again. Staff was wonderful and very helpful with any requests.

Room Tip: Really all the rooms are great with the exception of the Grasshopper as noted above.

My husband and I just stayed at the Emerald Iguana for the second time, and again, was not disappointed. The inn is so nicely done and so romantic, and comfortable. The town is very relaxing with lots of nice little shops and restaurants. I cant wait to come again, and try out a different room.

Room Tip: we've stayed in the Heather and the Lilly Pad- both are beautiful.
