Contrary to our experience, you would think a restaurant on the California coast, at a marina, called the "Jolly Roger" would have fresh local seafood. Don't make this assumption. The meal was not bad, but nothing we couldn't get at any chain restaurant anywhere in North America. Again, here we are in SoCal and there was a better wine selection in Detroit. Staff was great, and a nice location on the harbour. Keep looking, if you want that with better-than-average food.

Good food, great views of the harbor, friendly staff. The food quality is consistent and this is the place in the harbor that I take guests.

After arriving in Oceanside mid-afternoon we decided we were hungry. It was a little late for lunch, but too early for dinner. It was nice to find Jolly Roger serving their lunch and dinner menu all afternoon. The dining room was pretty full, at least all of the window tables were taken, so before seating our family the host asked if we would like to eat in the back of the dining room, or if we would prefer to eat upstairs in the bar with an excellent view of the harbor. We chose the latter, and we all enjoyed the view. We started with the garlic artichoke dip, which was served with tri-color tortilla chips, and was actually pretty tasty. We all ordered the fish and chips; with which we were all satisfied. Mind you, the fish and chips don't measure up to those served at pubs in London, but I have yet to find any that do here in California. The bartender doubled as our server and provided good service. I wouldn't hesitate to eat here again, but I don't know that I would make a special trip to visit the place.

Fairly decent breakfast value. Can walk from roon the location. 5 minutes. Beautiful scenery. can look at all the expensive boats in the marina. Daily menu features fresh locally caught fish.

Food was great, prices a little high, server was friendly but not very attentive. We had to track her down a few times during our meal to ask for refills on our empty glasses, a dessert menu, etc. Nice view of the marina. Worth a visit as long as you have a lot of time and patience.
