Small local eatery with a mish-mash decor and lively vibe. We liked the nigiri more than the rolls. Good beer on tap too. We be going back for sure.
The place has no signage and you enter through the adjacent Bull Taco restaurant. As the place was packed on the evening we went this obscurity isn't a problem for this restaurant - but it does seem to put some people off. Don't let it stop you trying this good little local sushi joint.

Great buzz with extremely fresh fish, prepared with emphasis on taste - whether traditional nigiri or sashimi or creative rolls prepared by someone putting passion into everything they create.

It not like any other sushi bar - its more like a sushi pub and has that atmosphere and the decor kinda plays to that - ecclectic with the comfort/feel of a well broken in pair pair of Levis. Mix of locals hanging out and foodies making a trek to the shrine. Unpretentious.

Food - My wife loves the Chronic roll (tempura tuna roll with more), Mango Madness (topped with Mango Salsa ) and Ginger Devils

i usually leave it to Davin (the chef) to deal me whatever he comes up with - mainly nigiri. it varies - depends on what the tide brings in. This last week I've had Hamachi and John Dorey(interesting more than my taste favorite), bluefin last month and the New Zealand Salmon. I loved the lobster nigiri. There are better descriptions on their Facebook site with a lot of photos. Thursday on - is live seafood and he will have live Uni and Oysters (2 varieties).

He is always experimenting - tonight I had swordfish bacon (really!). Last week there was pumpkin soup and in the summer chilled melon soup with bluefin. i like the sauces with the sushi but some of our friends tell him to hold as they just want the fish to speak for itself.Sit up at the sushi bar (7 seats) for ringside performance

Price is reasonable - for the 2 of us with 2 rolls with beers and the odd few nigiri pieces is $40 to $50 and more if I get carried away which is often. Oh add on the desert ice cream - he gets custom made Jack Daniels and honey(wifes favorite) , Vietnamese coffee (my indulgence) Gelato and Peach and something....

Not easy to find - inside of Bull Taco and no obvious sign its there from outside - follow the directions.

Service is beachy and informal. Closed Mondays - no lunches. Local beers - Pizza Port Chronic, Latitude 33 IPA, Hess Kolsch.
