I was out and about looking for a sandwich/soup shop in Oceanside and stumbled across this place. It is all fifties decors with a unbelievable menu. They have everything. and all is at a great deal. Me and a friend both ate a full meal with drink included for under 15 bucks. We also ended up taking home half our sandwiches since they had a nice proportion of meat and veggies on em. great little place.

Pit stop is perfect for every one! It's an amazing blend of a trucker stop and a classic 1950's diner! Who ever said putting a vintage car in the middle of your restaurant drove away consumers?

Food was good. Prices were low. There were lots if kids and some were screaming at the top of their lungs, so it was noisy. Fun atmosphere.

First, because this place is so popular at lunch, parking is at a premium. We went three times over two weeks and got a pretty good sense of it.

The menu is huge and covers most of the diner/hamburger joint items plus some other as well.

Calorie conscious or delicate eaters need not go. Portions range from big to enormous. On our first visit, I ordered the Chili Cheese Fries and the Junk Yard Dog. Rookie mistake. I didn't eat the rest of the day. The Chicken Salad is quite appealing as are the BLT's.

You order at the counter/cashier and food is brought to your table. While the restaurant is located in a strip mall, it could have easily been a garage at some point with high ceilings (lots of noise at peak times) and a 50's feel to it complete with vintage car. You can make a game out of trying to find a licence plate which are on the walls and elsewhere.

Very good value for money and worth a try.

The Pit Stop is much what it sounds like, a car-themed burger joint. The burgers are good but the patties are a little on the thin side but the price is very low so buy two if you are hungry! The fries are good and the staff is very friendly. They also serve breakfast and the prices are the best in the area. Great, affordable place for family dining.
