“This is the place to go!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 16, 2013

This is one of those holes in the wall places but surprisingly the best food I have ever tasted! Service is always excellent. We had a server who the next time we went in a month later remembered us and who we were with! We take people there all the time I wouldn't recommend any one go anywhere else!!!!

“Best Kept Secret in Oceanside--but everyone is catching on”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 13, 2013

Simply put, this place is the best dining in Oceanside this side of the ultra-pricey 333 Pacific. Don't let the locale fool you or the fact the patrons aren't all decked out like Del Martians on a Saturday night, this is a world-class eatery. Certainly helps if you like pork-based grub. The pork chop is to die for, the burgers stack up with anyone's and the bacon-laced macaroni and cheese is almost as good as my wife's. On top of that, the wait staff is nice and attentive, the atmosphere is interesting and the people watching tops anything within a 20-mile radius. Be warned, however, you better get there early or you will join the throngs waiting on the sidewalk because the pig really does fly here.

“Don't pass up the chance to visit!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 9, 2013

On first glance, you'll wonder why in the world you should bother getting out of your car. This place is small, an old garage or tool shop, on a side street lined with other garages and industrial businesses. But, trust me; step inside into one of the funkiest, friendliest, most creative restaurants you'll ever hope to find. We dined at the bar since there was almost an hour wait for a table and met friendly patrons and service staff who made the superb food just that much better. The pork chop with fennel in a date reduction was one of the best plates of food I've ever tasted, the gnocchi pasta was homemade, and the wine list was full of reasonably priced and unique offerings. An Oceanside gem! We can't wait to visit again!

“What a cool place.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 7, 2013

This was one of the coolest restaurants I have been to in a while. Every eclectic setting, lots of great energy, creative menu and outstanding service (Christina was a really, really good server). We shared the truffle fries, which were as good as expected. I had the pork chop, which was not amazing but pretty darned good. I really can't wait to come back and try everything else on the menu. PS - the place is VERY loud, so kids are ok!

“Don't miss the Pig”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 4, 2013

Great place in Oceanside, just a few blocks from the Pier. Easy parking. The building has a simple exterior, a few chairs and benches by an outdoor heater, where the people gather waiting for their table.
The restaurant only takes reservations for groups of 6 or more, so you have to play your chances. We waited about 40 min on a Saturday night, and that was not bad.
Inside the place was bigger than we expected, tables seemed to spill across to another room, but I couldn't tell for sure. The bar counter was busy, people come in and out non stop. The place is decorated in a vintage artistic way, which makes it interesting.
Service was great. Our waitress was also assisted by other servers, so service was fast, with the costumer in mind. Nice system.
We had a beet salad and a fresh green salad. The veggies were crisp, tender, absolutely delicious. The salads were wonderful, but half way through we wish they were a bit more dressed.
One of the servers recommended the next dishes, and they were perfect : Chicken & Dumplings and the Pork Belly. Amazing! You can taste the freshness, the quality and the work the chefs put into it. Besides, the plating was beautiful.
We had a delicious high quality meal, and hope to go back for another one soon.
One negative side, however: the place is very, very noisy, so don't expect to be able to carry a conversation for long.
