“Great Food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 27, 2013

We totally enjoyed our evening at the Flying Pig. We were greeted and welocmed when we arrived. Our waitress wa also very friendly. We appreciated the eclectic decor. The food was the highlight. My husband and I both agreed that our meal at this restaurant was the best we have had while staying in Oceanside over the last month. If you are looking for good food, this is the place to dine. However, be aware, it is very noisy. So, if you are looking for intimate dining and a place where you can visit, this might not be the right choice for you.

“Uneven Experience”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 20, 2013

First off, this place is WAY too noisy...and it wasn't even half full, when we were there at 5:30 P.M. for an early dinner. The chicken part of the chicken and dumplings was cooked to perfection, but the dumplings were nothing but small fried polenta balls. The goat cheese gnocchi was a disaster...heavy little pasta squares smothered with a overly salted thick meat sauce. YUK!! Good wine and beer selection, and the service was friendly and knowledgeable. We'll probably go back and have some burgers and beer...and stay away from their "cutting edge" culinary efforts.

“Great find”

This little ecclectic spot was very busy, but the service was prompt, the food & beer were really good. Such fun to look at all the artwork & do a little people-watching, too.

“Surprisingly creative and delicious”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 29, 2013

A friend of ours brought us to this restaurant for an early dinner. We were glad we got there early (before 5) because by the time we left, there was a line to get in that stretched down the sidewalk.

We were pleasantly surprised by the eclectic and creative menu. Oh, by the way, the menus are made from old album covers (as in vinyl, as in records) - this was a good start for me because I still love my old vinyl albums. We ordered appetizers and dinner - both of which came quickly and were very, very tasty. I also had a beer that was recommended to me which I enjoyed, but, sadly, I cannot remember the name. I only mention it because if you ask for a recommendation and are given one - take it.

The place is small and fills up fast. However, if you have to wait, it's worth it. I'd go as far as to say this is probably the best restaurant in Oceanside. Don't miss it.
