“Nice Ambience - Great Ocean View - Good Food - Slow Service”
Reviewed June 26, 2013

After hearing quite a bit of local buzz about this place we finally decided to try it. We did not have a reservation and we dined on a Tuesday night around 7:00 PM. We were seated without a wait and had a table inside on a raised level. From our table we overlooked the patio dining area and beyond that the Oceanside Pier and the pacific ocean. Very nice!

Our waitress came by right away and brought menus and water and then proceeded to ignore us for 20 minutes. We kept trying to get her attention so we could order. My husband was getting up to go to the bar and order a bottle of wine - since he was tired of waiting - and the waitress suddenly appeared. We ordered a bottle and before she could disappear again we ordered our dinner choices.

The food was very slow in coming out. Considering the dining room was half empty it seemed a long wait. That being said, I ordered the filet mignon with grilled onions on top. It came with a side of garlic mash that was delicious, light and creamy. The steak was cooked to perfection and was delicious. My husband had the Rainbow Trout which came with a side of creamed spinach. We have no complaints and only praise for the food.

Time for dessert.... what... NO CHOCOLATE? How can a restaurant not have anything with chocolate on the dessert menu? We therefore skipped dessert and enjoyed an after dinner drink. I chose a lemon drop martini and it was perfect.

Our bill for a bottle of wine, dinner for 2, and 2 martinis came to $147.00 Add a 20% tip and dinner totaled $177.00

Will I go back? Probably. My tip of the day is to make reservations and request patio seating. Get there before sunset so you can enjoy the beauty of the universe. The staff we encountered were all very pleasant, engaging and friendly. But the service was slow.

“Very Expensive!!!!!”
Reviewed June 6, 2013

If you are looking for an upscale and I mean upscale restaurant, I think this would be the place to go. I didn't see anything on the menu under $15 and that was the appetizers! Surf and turf was $49.50! Can't take a family there!d

“Wonderful food and great View!”
Reviewed June 5, 2013

The food is excellent and be sure to get a table on the patio overlooking the Oceanside Pier and the Pacific Ocean. Had lunch here with my 89 year old mother and it was great. Staff is most helpful and moderate prices.

“Perfect except for the Creme Brûlée”
Reviewed May 28, 2013

Third trip to 333, and it was wonderful as expected. Tempura veggie appetizer with 3 great dips were perfect for the third time. Scallop and artichoke entree and Ahi entrees were beautifully prepared and presented.

Our server, James, achieved an excellent balance of friendly attentiveness and unobtrusiveness.

We did not mention the unimpressive creme brûlée because it was already free for a birthday dinner and we were too busy staring at the Pacific sunset.

“A bit pricey, but worth it”
Reviewed May 27, 2013

We were staying at the Wyndham Pierside Resort and this restaurant is right next to it. Started with cocktails, wife had a Moscow Mule - terrible, and I had a dirty gin martini - OK. Appetizers: sweet chili calamari - fantastic, kobe pot stickers - very good. Entrees: wife asked for poached salmon instead of blackened salmon and got it; excellent with cucumber-yogurt sauce, spicy "gazpacho" slaw; I had the 12 oz. filet topped with oscar - excellent. Received a complimentary "Happy Birthday" caramel vanilla ice cream dessert in a crispy shell. Total cost including one bottle of wine: $152. Would definitely recommend.
