We went to see the holiday show and we had a blast. Christmas Carol was great and the Three Little Pigs was a hoot. I had sooooo much fun!

“A fun date night”
Reviewed January 23, 2013

Looking for a great date-night with your spouse or friends - the Melodrama is a gas. Every show is an experience and well worth your time. We're always on the look-out for their new productions.

“Family fun and a little "culture" at the same time!”
Reviewed December 30, 2012

I can't say how old the Melodrama is, but it's been around for decades. Annette Gilespie started in in the late 1970s, I think. She was a professor in the drama department at Cuesta College at the time. The performances are fun!!!! And audience participation is a must! When the villain arrives on stage the audience is expected to "BOOOO!!!" when the hero shows up, you are expected to cheer; when the damsel daintily makes her appearance, you are expected to sigh..."ahhhhh." The actors are also the servers in the galley. The food ranges from popcorn to BBQ beef sandwiches. Not gourmet, but who cares? This was the way we introduced our grandchildren to "theater" and now they not only ask to go to the Melodrama when they visit, they actually want to go to the more sophisticated version too. Really fun for the entire family! Sawdust on the floors, loud and crazy antics by the actors (onstage and off), and a must to get kids interested in live performances and get them off e-things!

“great fun”
Reviewed December 11, 2012

Very entertaining and great fun. Not a place for little kids (please don't take them there) but not touted as such. Go and enjoy!

“Great Time for an Evening”
Reviewed December 1, 2012

A must do when in town, and attend one of the Vaudeville shows / review, a great night of entertainment. A small family owned venue that has been around for quite a few years, and the cast members are also the greeters and serving staff. Have seen a dozen of so of their shows over the last few years, and always are entertained, a good mixture of performers, and usually
always one or two standouts. Doesn't look like much from the street or part of town, but good
snacks (hot dogs, BBQ Beef, etc ...) at decent prices, fun, and entertaining, and a great evening
of entertainment.
