This lovely Inn is an oasis of calm. Beautifully appointed and maintained by the owners, it was a pleasure to stay there. Our room was lovely, with a large and extremely comfortable bed, easy chairs and a fire place. The bathroom was large (equipped for less able people) with a plentiful supply of towels, toiletries and bath robes. The Inn offers complimentary wine and chees between 4 and 5 pm, which is a welcome and generous touch and affords guests the opportunity to chat and share the days adventures, usually relating to wineries visited! Breakfast down stairs includes cereals, fruit and a hot dish (special diets, can be catered for). Not hug by US standards but more than adequate, nicely presented and well cooked. Owners are, able to provide maps, restaurant recommendations and so on. Ideal base for touring Sonoma wine region, beaches and redwood parks. Ample parking and choice of eating establishments in town, we ate at Union Hotel and Bistro des Copains, both very different, both good and both within walking distance. A real treat.

My Mom and I had the pleasure of staying at the Inn for 3 nights this summer on a Mother/Daughter trip to California. From the moment I made reservations, I had several emails with questions and suggestions for making our stay extra special, and they even took care of our first night's dinner reservations before arrival. Tina greeted us with a warm welcome upon arrival, and we had the opportunity to enjoy the wine/cheese tasting that first night before heading off to dinner. Our room was perfect...clean, very comfy bed and tastefully decorated. We loved the nice music they had playing when we arrived in the room...very nice touch! Saving the best for last, breakfast at the Inn is NOT TO BE MISSED! Being self-proclaimed foodies, we felt like we were in a 5 star restaurant each morning with the food beautifully prepared and absolutely delicious! The homemade granola was addicting as were the homemade peach muffins! The entrees during our stay were a Southwestern Frittata the first morning, Peach Waffles the second morning and a Vegetable Scramble in a Parmesan Cup the last morning of our stay. Every suggestion for things to do during our 3 days was "spot on" and helped make our trip extra special! We thoroughly enjoyed: private tour of Littorai Winery, dinner at Bistro de Copain and day trips to Sonoma and Healdsburg. I can't wait for the opportunity to visit again, and I can assure you, I WILL!

we loved this inn, so pretty in such a pretty village. We stayed in the Cut Glass Room and loved it- the hot tub was one of the most powereful we've tried, we went in 3 times in 2 nights. Tina was lovely as was Gerry and the other lovely lady who worked there (so sorry I forget her name). The breakfasts were yummy, beautiful quiche one day and orange pancakes the next. The coleman road to Bodega was absolutely beautiful and we loved the winery recommendations (iron horse)

Occidental is just lovely, we ate at the union hotel (you do no need apertisers here!!! and the bistro des copains- both lovely).

We love this place and would love to return one day.

We stayed at the Inn for 2 nights in August in the Sandwich Glass Suite. Our initial call for reservations was greeted by Marilyn and must say, she is a tremendous asset to the Inn. Her attention to our reservation from the get go was outstanding. Upon arrival she took the time to go over the Inn's offerings and did not rush us one bit. Her recommendations for dinner and wineries were spot on. The Inn is lovely but if you are looking for something a bit further from town you may want to try elsewhere. The room was very clean, bedding was wonderful. The bathroom needs some attention. Shower needs thorough cleaning around the grout. Carpet in room is a bit dated. Was expecting a TV in a suite room. For nearly $400 a night you would expect that to be a given. Overall good experience.

We do value all of the input our guests give us. We attempt to correct any negative item we learn of and share all of the positive ones with our team. Unfortunately the Inn was going through a Direct TV installation during your stay and we have competed putting the TV's in each of our rooms. We are not sure we understand the carpet comment since new carpet was put into that room 2 years ago and it has been well maintained. The bathroom shower grout in the corner was corrected.
Hopefully we can win you back.

Very pretty. Lovely welcome from Tina and a nice upgrade on our room. Sumptuous soft bed with beautiful cotton sheets and tasteful art and excellent attention to details. We went to Occidental for the Osmosis Spa and Burke's canoe trips which are about 20 minutes drive away. Would definitely go back - found the old guy that worked there a little grumpy but then who isn't at that age. This is definitely a very special place and would urge friends not to miss staying here.

Having worked at a bed and breakfast I was very impressed with the Inn at Occidental! The decor and environment was spot on to the area and was very inviting. The innkeepers were so helpful with our every need an helped us find activities during the day including a zip line as well as assisted with dinner reservations on our last night. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a quiet, comfy getaway. I plan to return to the Inn at Occidental in the future!

We stayed at this very pretty and comfortable inn on a cycling trip. The room was spacious, cosy and very pretty, the staff were all very helpful. Breakfast was served in a lovely room with a roaring fire. The only reason it doesn't score higher was because breakfast was very limited if you didn't like the dish of the day. Just a minor grip for a lovely inn.
