We enjoyed our tour of Opus One. While I thoroughly enjoyed the tour and the 1/4 glass of Opus one 2009, I believe the 120 dollars for two is a steep price to pay. If money is no object, indulge yourself.

Overpriced wine tasting. The staff look right through you and ignore every question. Even trying to buy wine there is a process. The tasting consisted of a tiny pour and then a turn of the back by the host.
Asking the staff a question about the vintage was a process. Only a Congressional inquiry could get them to talk to you.
There are so many great Wineries in Napa that are friendly helpful and fun. This is not one of them.
The grounds and building are stunning but the service from the tasting room is lacking. It is definitely pricey for the tasting but we received little or no communication or even a smile from the girls pouring. In all the other winery's customer service is so friendly and everyone seems proud to be there but that is lacking at Opus One.

Would probably book a tour, although pricey at 60 bucks a person, not bad considering you'd be paying 50 bucks a glass for a tasting. Tour was good lasted a little over an hour, besides for "that guy" you inevitably have in every group asking redundant questions, the tour was good. The coolest part of the tour besides for the generous pour of 2009 opus was the oak barrel aging room. The architecture of the building was nice and if you don't take the tour, I'll tell you that from above, the building looks like a wine glass. Overall this is a good way to spend 60 of your hard earned dollars, especially if you're a opus one fan. The wine by the was wonderful, and not just because it was expensive! Maybe one day I'll be able to afford to drink it regularly.
We visited Opus One for their 10am weekday tasting and had the place to ourselves which was awesome! The winery building is beautiful and really stands out among others. Once you enter the main building you are shown the tasting room and choose which wine you want to taste. They were offering the 2006 for $50 per glass and 2009 for $40. We had one of each so we could taste both and compare. After you receive your glass you are free to wander the grounds, sit outside on comfy furniture or head upstairs to the terrace. Overall it was a great setting and the wine was very nice. We preferred the 2006 as it was a much more "vintage" tasting wine. The 2009 750ml bottle was $225 and the 2006 was only sold in the magnum for $675. We enjoyed the tasting but didn't make a purchase as we didn't love the 2009 enough to spend $225. Overall it was definitely worth a stop at Opus One.
