“A winery must”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 13, 2010

Robert Mondavi is the first winery you must go to when in the Napa Valley. Their tour is approximately an hour and half long including tasting. This was the only tour we found that showed the vineyard and explained pruning, weather, soil conditions, spacing, and many other interesting facts regarding the life of the grape. One other detail: the wine was excellent!

“A great place to start”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 9, 2010

We took the 75 minute signature tour and tasting and were impressed by the scope and knowledge our guide brought to the tour. An excellent introduction to the art of winemaking for those of us who know nothing about it.

“Couldn't have been better”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 27, 2010

During a recent vacation to the San Francisco area a friend and I took the Signature Wine Tour (~75 mins) and there aren't enough good things I can say about it. It's a beautiful vineyard with a most friendly staff. Our tour was offered by an actual Mondavi winemaker who was so personable and interested in showing us a good time. He gave us a full tour of the winery and guided us through a tasting of three wines. He went out of his way to adjust the tour to suit the group's interests and to carefully answer our questions.
For having paid only $25 I felt as if I were ripping them off!

“Mondavi Winery - Revisited... and still absolutely great!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 6, 2010

We came back to visit the Mondavi winery after we did so two years ago. That time we loved it.... and we still do!

The winery is very easy to find. Come by car and it only takes you about 15 minutes from Napa. It will be on your left right on St. Helena Highway.

The winery offers plenty of room. Stroll around with your wine samples. Or just sit down and relax... or purchase some wine or wine-related products in the store. The whole setting is really beautiful and very well maintained.

The wine they serve here is one of the best I know. The regular Cab. Sauvignon is already a very good choice. But if you want someting very special, try the Cabernet Sauvignon Carneros. It's 65$ a bottle, but worth every single buck. This wine is absolutely breathtaking (see the pic). It was already great on the wine tasting. But when we bought one, opened it and let it breathe for a while, the wine did really unfold it's full character. A masterpiece!

If you are in Napa or close, this place is a must! Some might say it's too touristy or too commercial... might be! But hey, it's about wine. And the wine is fantastic! We definetly come back here again!

“Best winery tour of our trip!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 2, 2010

This was our first, and as it turned out, best winery tour of our weekend trip to Napa. We went on the 75 minute Signature Tour. Being budding "wine connoiseurs" (tongue in cheek), much of our enjoyment had to do with our amazing tour guide, Arliss, whose enthusiasm for wine and her job couldn't be matched! I thought all tour guides in Napa would be as fun as she was, but I was soon disappointed. I won't bash any other wineries here though. Saying that Robert Mondavi Winery is the best is more than enough!

I particularly enjoyed the sit down wine tasting at the end of the tour. It was more intimate and friendly than standing at a bar, like some of the other places do.

This Houstonian cannot wait for her next trip to Napa! And you can bet that the Robert Mondavi Winery will be a priority on my itinerary!
