This was the first tour we took on our recent trip to Napa. We did the first tour of the day at 10am. It's never too early to drink wine, right??
Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about wine and wine making in general as well as the history and business of the Mondavi vineyard. She gave us a great foundation on how wine made its way out to Napa and what Mondavi's part in it was.
We had a great little tour of the vines where we learned more about what it was like to grow wine before heading into the fermentation room. It was really impressive to see the 50,000 gallon tanks that usually hold their reserve lines. The barrel room was even more impressive.
The tasting was yummy as usual. We were guided right into the gift shop on the way out so we could buy some of the wine we were tasting, though I appreciated having a discount on the wine since we had taken the tour.
