“Shocked it's a Hilton”
Reviewed January 15, 2012

I stay at Hilton's for work and this was the worst one I have stayed at. The property is very dated and needs a face lift. The rooms are old and run down. Although the room was clean, it just felt dirty because of how old everything was. Popcorn ceilings, yellowed bathtub, no mini fridge, leaky faucet just to name a few things that earned a 2 star rating from me.

Room Tip: Ground floor rooms facing the pool have an outside patio with chairs.

I needed to reserve a room for all day interviews in the San Fran area. The catering staff was very nice and effective. When we arrived, it was odd- the bell man knew more than the front desk staff. He was really on it! This came to play later on too. The hotel is kind of run down, but the lobby is ok. we had lunch in the restaurant which was very old and oddly set up behind a sports bar with a weird velvet rope blocking the entry. Food was average. Our server was nice.
Upon checkout, i asked the front desk person if I should wait for a bill or what. She stated to every question, i don't know. She kept asking me to go to the catering office for ANY questiona about anything. When I asked her to call the shuttle because I had a flight soon, she said she could not- they run every 1/2 hour. This was not what the mgr told me- she said it was on demand/call. When i explained this was a problem bec of a flight, she could care less. I finally had to go to the main office and get a mgr to intervene. So, would I use this hotel again...no. They have real problems at the front desk. If they fix that....not sure.

Think 3 or 4 times if. You are thinking even moderate. Closer to a motel 6. Smelly 80s decor polyester, gold picture frames -- oh, but they put in a 32 inch flat screen. But i can still see the filth on my white socks from one trip to the restroom. Sorry

I love the security, bed, noise isolation, staff, location. Low water pressure in shower but that seems to be the norm for hotels these days. Great TV and channel selections. Easy shuttle to airport. Great park n fly package rate for this quality hotel.

Room Tip: ask for room near the lobby so that you will be closer to the shuttle pick up in the morning.

This hotel, acquired in the last few years by Hilton is very convenient to OAK, has a very nice staff, and very large rooms. It is quite clean, a special challenge for a hotel of this vintage... think early '60's. Despite management by Hilton, the age shows. Bathrooms are tiny (think cruise ship), and insulation between/above-below rooms is minimal. Was that Sasquatch or King Kong treading none-so-lightly in the room above? If you're a sound... make that VERY sound... sleeper, traveling alone, and here but for an overnight, this lodging is acceptable; otherwise, search further, for you can do better.

Room Tip: If you are Hilton Honors, opt for a $10 upgrade when you book.

I slept for 5 nights at the Hilton at Oakland/Airport. The hotel is on a 3* level. They have a pool, fitness area, normal US breakfast, free transfer to the BAT (subway). From the station it takes ~20 Minutes to San Francisco Market Street for $3.80. The hotel picks you up as well. Just give a call to the reception. They have free Wifi at the Lobby and the restaurant. The airport is close. I slept always with the window open, surprise ... it was not loud! All employees are very friendly!!

Spent 4 nights on business staying at this property. Your typical off site airport Hotel. Was probably a 2nd rate hotel before Hilton came in and freshened up the place and posted their signs everywhere. My room was decent enough but very much out of thew way. The hotel is a spread type property with a bunch of wings. The bed was typical Hilton, very comfortable and enjoyable. Pool looked nice but who has time for that. The shuttle to the BART station was convenient but there is nothing else around the hotel. You either need a car or must eat at the hotel restaurant.
