Beer Lao for $2?!? This ultra-rare offering of SouthEast Asia's finest brew is enough to keep me coming back, but add to that the excellent food, friendly service, and understated neighborhood charm and you have an unbeatable combination for a Lao-style night out. You might even be treated to Lao karaoke on a heaving Saturday night. Menu is extensive, with offerings from different SouthEast Asian traditions: Lao, Thai, Lue, and Vietnamese. Excellent and authentic Lao noodle soups, tasty curries, great appetizers--especially the nam kao and sai krok, and stellar gai yang--marinated Northeastern Thai chicken, best eaten with a super spicy tam mak hung and sticky rice. One of my favorite SouthEast Asian restaurants in the Bay Area.
