Food is fantastic! Always innovative and delicious! Crowded and popular, allow extra time for parking

Marica is one of our "go-to" restaurants. Food great, service, great, sometimes a bit too noisy, but otherwise splendid.

It is busy Thur to Sunday, so make reservations. I eat here a lot and have become friends with the waitstaff and owners. The food is always good. The mussels are particularly tasty and cheap $5. Fried calamari is done with lemon grass and is terrific $11. Fish dishes are typically $23-26 except the lobster $34. Try their specials. They have 5 or 6 cocktails for $6 each, and the wine list is very reasonable. Waitstaff is very friendly and very familiar with the food. They have a fish special every night that includes a choice of three salads, all good, the fish plate with vegies and something like potatoes or polenta, all with good sauces, and a choice of four desserts. It runs $29, but if you are seated by 630 it is $3 less. I like my pork chops rare, so I have to tell them or they are medium-well. The salmon is always great. They make some type of hot fudge souffle that is too rich for me. Rack of lamb is very good, as is their occasional special rack of lamb that is asian style. Steaks are good also. I eat here several times a month and it never disappoints. There is a small bar, I think six stools. Wine list is reasonable.

The restaurant was packed and we were made waiting for more than half an hour though we had arrived on time for our reservation. Service recovery took the form of a free plate of tasty mussels. The food was good both in taste and value. Go there for a good meal but be prepared for noise and crowdedness.

Ok, it was our anniversary, so we were ready to have a special meal, and we weren't disappointed at all! Contemporary atmosphere, great service and terrific food. Of the seven dishes we ordered and split (4 appetizers, 1 salad, 1 entree, 1 dessert), all were really good, and a couple were truly excellent. The "chopped calamari" was probably the best we've ever had, perfectly and uniquely seasoned and flash fried (lightly); and the chocolate souffle w/ vanilla bean ice cream dessert (which had to be ordered at the beginning of the meal), was outstandingly light and delicious - and I usually don't order chocolate. Also enjoyed the caesar salad (fully dressed but not over the top); the oysters on half shell; lobster bisque; sashimi layered over mango, crispy won-ton and avocado; and the mahi-mahi entree, cooked perfectly. But I did say "Seafood and Service," and the servers were knowledgeable and personable, and teamed up to cover all of our needs without hovering. We also had a single house specialty cocktail, well mixed without skimping on the alcohol. This meal was definitely in our top ten over the last few years! While this was our first time eating there, we'll be heading back to Marica, and bringing our friends.
