“dinner with friends”
Reviewed May 26, 2013

Our friends suggested this place in Oakland next to Jack London Square. The restaurant is relatively big and new with mostly Latin American cuisine. The ceviche was excellent. Service was very good.

“Tasty Pan-American dishes served beautifully on the waterfront patio in Oakland.”
Reviewed May 1, 2013

Our waiter was welcoming and helpful, suggesting wonderful dishes to share: olives, a cheese plate with several selections, a tiny honeycomb and spicy jicama strips; fresh salads; yellowfin tuna, pork tenderloin, flank steak, each and all with scrumptious sauces and accompaniments. Oh, and it was a sunny evening with a light breeze...

“Nice place, over-priced, small portions, fair service”
Reviewed April 19, 2013

Had lunch here on a Monday with five other people. Nice place, not very crowded. Service was adequate at best. Three taco plates, two burgers, one with no bun with a vegie side and one fish sandwich. The tacos were tasty but skimpy for twelve dollars, the fish sandwich had no flavor. When my wife asked for tartar sauce the waiter told her that they do not have tartar sauce. She left half the fish and three quarters of the bread on her plate. This disappointing dish for fourteen dollars makes me wonder how it manages to get the reviews that I see. The burgers with a fried egg on top were a little better but hardly worth the price. The vegie side was over-charred brussel sprouts. The $4 iced tea was weak. The parking validation saved me seventy five cents so that the parking cost me $6.75 I, for one, will not return. There are too many other good places in the area for lunch.

“A nice surprise !”
Reviewed April 9, 2013

I love this place... came here on a Sat late afternoon... had a 6pm reservation but showed at at 5 and was pleasantly surprised. They have a fantastic happy hour where you can get small tapa size plates for an average of $5. What a great way to try everything...We tried almost every Hot Bites on the Bocaditos menu...
Papas Fritas. Yucca Fritters, Short Rib Empanada, Pork Ribs, Daily Taco, Slow Roasted Pork mini sandwich, prather ranch mini burger, crab deviled eggs, tortilla chips... loved them all but if I must choose - Roast pork mini.... most impressed with the mini burger because most restaurants can't make a great mini burger...frieds were not greasy so super +, and loved the empanada...

Best of all, I love the view while sitting outside overlooking the bay at Jack London SQ!

“on the Jack London Square waterfront”
Reviewed April 3, 2013

this was an excellent luncheon experience for celebrating a birthday. Sitting outside, sunny day, water and boats. And the charm of the Fire Dept. cadets in training running by. We cheered them on.
The Business Lunch was nicely put together with soup, main dish and dessert for $20.
Well prepared and presented. Lovely restaurant on the waterfront area. Parking nearby with validation from restaurant. Service and food were outstanding.
