“Good choice outside Yosemite”
Reviewed July 23, 2014

We've stayed at the BW Yosemite Gateway Inn 2 or 3 times and have been pleased with it each time.
The hotel is nicely laid out in that the rooms go up the hill, as opposed to along busy Highway 41. The rooms are decent sized and all the ones we've stayed in had a refrigerator and microwave. The bed was comfortable and the room clean. There is are indoor and outdoor pools, a couple little grassy areas for kids to play, and a small play structure, which is nice if your kids have been in the car for three hours and need to burn some energy. The hotel is in general very quiet and the two room "suites" are nice if you have a family.
We have family in this area and stay here each time we come up.
The restaurant on the property wasn't great the last time we were there, so we ate a place down the road for breakfast. It may have improved, but we skipped it this time.

Good hotel, nicely maintained and a very short drive from the park. There's no breakfast which was a bit odd for a Best Western Plus but you do get a discount at the hotel restaurant though we opted for the Denny's down the street.

We stayed for one night after visiting Yosemite National Park. The room was located by the pool which was very nice. The hotel had laundry facilities, a workout room, a restaurant and outdoor pool/jacuzzi. We really enjoyed the hotel and it's peaceful location set in the forest. It was clean and reasonable in price.

Room Tip: Book a room by the pool so that the room is facing inside the area and away from the road. The hotel...

This was a nice hotel for the price and quality. they had both an indoor pool/jacuzzi and an outdoor pool/jacuzzi which was really nice. They also had an excercise/workout room. I would have liked to seen the price a little lower.

Let's face it, the lodging choices near and in Yosemite are very expensive. This hotel was quite close to the south entrance while still costing a reasonable amount for spacious rooms. Quiet too! Our room was adjacent to the laundry room but we heard nothing all night! The rooms are not trendy but the furnishings are comfortable and very well kept. Very clean. We only ate breakfast at the on-site restaurant since we arrived too late for dinner. Breakfast was very good, plus, as a guest we received 25% off, which made it convenient and less expensive than the Denny's down the road. Oakhurst has several fast food outlets and groceries that are open past 11. Quite nice for a small town. And a godsend as we were traveling in a family group including toddlers and teenagers!

I was traveling with my Mom and 2 sisters so we booked the 2 king bed room and it was perfect for us. The room was very comfortable and had a little kitchenette with a sink, microwave and small refrigerator. We had a ground floor room and were able to park right in front but there's no elevator for the second floor room so luggage may be a challenge. We ate breakfast in the restaurant each morning, the food was very good and quite affordable. The only negative comment is the distance to Yosemite was further than I realized. We only had 1 day in the park and the drive to get there took about 1 hour. Since we didn't do took much hiking 1 day turned out to be plenty of time for us. Although if you're planning to hike you'd definitely want 2 days or stay closer to the park. Overall we enjoyed this hotel and would probably stay there again.

Room Tip: Book the rooms in the new section. For families the room with 2 kinds is perfect.

My husband and I stayed here for our trip to Yosemite. The hotel is very dated, and not much is done to enhance the experience of the guest. When we came back in from the park, the room was cleaned, kind of. There are paper cups that were replaced, but old ones were not thrown out. The sheets feel a touch grimy, so I hope they were replaced between guests. The floor I couldn't tell if it was vacuumed.

This is an ok place to stay, but given my choice, if there was a Hampton Inn. I wish there would be simple enhancements for the guests and needs a serious update.
