“Family Weekend”
Reviewed June 9, 2014

What a great visit I experienced in Oakhurst with my daughter, grandson and granddaughter. Staying at the Hotel topped it off. The swimming pool was a slight hike but then why not; we are in the mountaines. The pool was clean and slightly secluded. Greenery all around and the hot tub was very secluded. My grandson decided to stay with me and my daughter and a roll away bed was delivered quickly and with a SMILE. We at dinner at their restaurant with the Chef chatting with everyone in the dinning room. Great food and the green rice was something to write home about.

The outside is very inviting. There were flies all over our rooms. There was evidence of earlier travelers killing flies. The toilet seat was loose. The exercise center was not to open until 8 A.M. and didn't open then either. The room was musty, and had not been remodeled since Reagan was in office.

This is a solid hotel on the way into Yosemite.
The room was large enough with a good bed. It was clean. Our specific rooms opened to a patio above the pool, where we had a nice gathering before dinner.
The hotel has a lot of unique character that separates it from a chain location. It appears that every room has a hand painted mural and additional original paintings. The restaurant is jammed with paintings. All of these are by the same painter (you decide if the painter is also an artist). There is a water wheel in front of the lobby.
The restaurant menu is deep, varied and reflects the hotel.
It is a great place to stay for your Yosemite visit.

Fabulous stay, great location. We were traveling thru and needed a place to stay with a pool. This place was perfect! Great pool and hot tub. We ate dinner and breakfast at the hotel and the meals were great! It's nice when you don't need to leave the property!

We requested a room in the newest building and it was awesome! Although the view is practically nonexistent with just looking out to parking lots and Denny's, the room itself was in pristine condition, super clean, spacious, and very pretty with beautiful decor. It was very quiet and comfortable. The restaurant was a bit annoying on the two occasions that we chose to dine. For breakfast we had a very chatty, flighty waitress that ruined our breakfast. We dined for dinner and had to wait 1 hour and 45minutes before our food was served at 1030 pm! We arrived at 8:45pm. The food was amazing though and our waiter was very friendly. The location is a bit far from Yosemite Valley but the drive is pretty. I would stay here again but it is a bit pricey considering the location is a bit far from the main attraction.

Room Tip: The newest building was super clean with beautiful decor! The 2nd floor was quiet. However, the vie...

We found this Best Western last minute when our other Valentine's plans fell through and we decided to take our dog with us to Yosemite. So on top of needing to find a nice hotel last minute, it needed to be a dog friendly hotel. The price was perfect, no extra charge for our dog. We were surprised when we got there how big and nice it was. Very close to dinning and Bass Lake. Further to Yosemite since it was on the other side of where we normally enter. But worth it. Definitely nice place for couple and family and I would bring my boys back with us next time.

We chose this hotel as it was centrally located to where everyone lived (Northern and Southern California) and we had a classmate who lives in Oakhurst who hosted us. The hotel was convenient to the entrance of Yosemite National Park and very close to many stores and restaurants. The hotel was awesome!! They put all of us in the same building which worked out perfectly for us so we were close to one another. I really thought this a thoughtful gesture on the part of the hotel. It make it that much more fun for us.

All of us are on the committee who planned our 40th High School reunion and we met here to talk about the 45th.

We used the bar both nights (although we arrived close to closing time) and the staff was nice to accommodate us! We also ate breakfast the morning we left and the service and food was really good.

My husband said he saw 2 deer walk through the back parking lot! Yosemite was gorgeous but try to get an early start. We left a little late one morning and the line at the gate was long and it took us 30 minutes to get through the gate. It was worth all the time.

Recommend for those that get car sick - you might want to take Dramamine for motion sickness. The roads are pretty curvy! Bring snacks and water with you too. The restaurant at Wawona Hotel was nice too. Large portions.
