“Very nice stay”
Reviewed June 17, 2011

We booked in here last minute and were happily surprised. So much so, we stayed another night. The rooms themselves are a good size and clean. Also had a fridge and free wifi. Breakfast was good too. The staff were also very nice and helpful. Have chosen comfort inns for several other parts of our trip now based on this hotel and all seem good. Hotel chain of choice now for cheap stays. Would recommend.

Room Tip: Try to get room away from main road

TOO FAR FROM YOSEMITE!!!!! We stayed here because we made a last minute trip to Yosemite in June. This is a good hotel if you are driving up from Los Angeles, San Diego, etc., and you just want to spend your FIRST night here and rest. After that, I highly recommend camping in Yosemite (make reservations far in advance!). It is a very long (about 1 hour 15 minutes to Yosemite Village WITHOUT any traffic) and the road is very winding. We left Yosemite and drove back to Oakhurst at night and it was extremely dark and scary- do NOT recommend doing this. The breakfast room is super tiny. They need to expand the breakfast area. Breakfast was decent with a waffle maker. The rooms are a nice size. EVERYONE (including all of the employees) seem to smoke at this hotel and it was disgusting- pool area, by the office, all over the grounds. CHOKE! Also- the front desk help is lacking- especially during check-out time. They need to heat the swiming pool- it was about 50 F!

Biggest problem with this hotel is that it put me too far from the valley which was my fault and not theirs. Stayed here for two nights and the rooms were clean and large and the beds were pretty comfortable. You get a free continental breakfast that needs some improving. They mostly offer carbs like cereal and bagels but tried to offer some eggs one morning we were there and that was a big mistake. The eggs were worse than worst and should never be served to anyone again; ditto the oatmeal which taste like leftover dog food. I must compliment Linda who worked very hard to make sure everything stayed stocked up. Great Job Linda. You get free wi-fi, a microwave, and fridge which are a big plus. No business center which is a big negative. Not that you should be doing business when visiting Yosemite. If you can get closer do it but if not this is not the worse place you could stay.

We thought this hotel was very nice but over priced! The ground were neatly kept with many flowers in bloom. The pool was cold and the hot tub was hot! There were many foreign visitors staying at this hotel. Breakfast was very, very busy and seating in minimal.

All in all, we would stay again.

Nice hotel, reasonable location for Yosemite (about 17 miles to the park entrance and then about 18 to the valley floor).

The large room had a fridge, coffee making, good shower, large TV. The bed looked bigger than a King. No safe but free use of a deposit box in reception.

Breakfast was the usual American and the do-it-yourself waffles were great. Limited seating inside but lots of tables outside under a shade.

Garage next door does good value gas and some really good subs for your pic-nic lunch.

I would reccomend this hotel.

Large rooms, clean, friendly, decent breakfast(tho ltd cereal choice and no yogurt), outdoor pool (cool) and decent hot tub. Great location near Yosemite, and price makes good value.

Room Tip: Get room in back on 2nd fl for quiet

We were both tired and this place did exactly what a good hotel should do, gave us a good place to rest and be refreshed for the next day. It was relatively close to our next destination Mariposa Groves, so it served well for our purposes. Breakfast was simple but sufficient. Service was friendly even at the hour we arrived. The town had one of those lovely small country town feel. Loved it.
