Well, for some reason, hotels located near big national parks most of time are very far away from the best ones.
Americas Best Value Inn in Oakhurst wasn't so bad as legendary famous for filthiness Armagosa Hotel nearby Death Valley National Park, however it clearly shows signs of aging and wearing out - rusty (but clean) bathroom towel racks, stains on carpet in a hallways (cleaned with some sharp smelling cleaner).
Our room 141 was big enough and was kept nice and clean for entire week, however last day bath shampoo wasn't delivered and opened pack of sugar was left (not by us) next to coffee maker, causing massive small ants invasion. Well, maybe room service worker was just too busy and forgot to take care about stuff, or maybe tips left of the pillow every day wasn't considered as good enough.
Forget WiFi there. I was able to connect a couple times with very slow speed and was disconnected quickly. Front Desk Representative explained that speed is slow because many guests trying to run MapQuest for directions. However in the evening, still there was no internet connection. Very likely, hotel guests were still trying to run MapQuest...
A nice part of being in this hotel was morning breakfast. Using kitchen pan for self made pancakes (ingredients were supplied) we quickly learned how to make delicious pancakes. Kitchen worked was very helpful, quick to assist and friendly.
We paid $170 per night which not exactly reflects such ambitious name as Americas Best Value Inn.
P.S.
we were surprised with perfect ALAMO car rental service in Fresno Airport. No gimmicks, no gotchas ( no additional airport fees, car cleaning fee and so on).
