I had to travel to Oakhurst 3 times in the last couple of months and was glad I found ABV Inn in Oakhurst. It was clean, the staff was friendly and the rooms were big. I brought my dog one of those times and he loved it too! He got his own bed. They only charge $10 extra for small pets.

CAVEAT: Skip the "complimentary" breakfast. There is only old pastries and some cereal and milk. The cups they give for your coffee are about the size of a shot glass. The packets of butter were old and the oil had separated. Just go to Starbucks, down the street or better yet, Zander's in Coarsegold.

You get what you pay for, but that is NOT a criticism! For an incredibly low price we got a large, clean, quiet and comfortable room in Oakhurst, which gave us easy access to Bass Lake, Coarsegold, Mariposa Grove and the Yosemite valley. The hotel staff were very welcoming and helpful. There were a selection of restaurants nearby ranging from fast food to a wonderful steakhouse.

A good location when you want to visit Yosemite and want to avoid the crowds. Relatively small and straightforward hotel, but fine to stay in. Has a small swimming pool as well

What we liked about America's Best Value Inn Oakhurst:

Desirée the over worked manager on duty. She was very friendly and was doing a great job.

Larger sized room

Microwave, Refrigerator, Iron and Ironing Board and Coffee Maker in room

Free Wifi

Washer & Dryer.

What we disliked about America's Best Value Inn Oakhurst:

FILTH! Basic cleaning at this property has been severely neglected. I can accept an outdated property. But It is truly important to me that it be clean. Please see a few photos I have uploaded.

The external side entrance is filthy with cigarette stains, dirt and other filth.

The carpet should have been replaced years ago. The bottom of my clean white socks were blackish gray after walking on the carpet a few times.

The faucet in the bathroom came loose from the sink.

The bed was too soft for my personal preference.

+ compared to other hotels not too expensive
+ nice, clean and big rooms with a nice bathroom
- One of us Found a fishhook in His heel While brushing his teeth. We never received any reaction from the manager to whom the hook was said to be sent.
- the breakfast is poor. There was something missing every morning, and the dining 'hall' is so small, that we were lucky to find a spot to sit every morning.
- the distance to Yosemite valley actually is at least 45 mi. It is 16 to the entrance but a lot more to the valley. One should definitely calculate 1,5 hrs drive to the valley.

I agree with previous posters. This hotel is really in dire need of a redo. The carpets are stained and dirty in the hallways. The rooms have beds that have seen better days since they are uneven. The "breakfast" room needs paint, and a thorough scrubbing. There is no elevator and the room keys work 1/5 times. The only saving grace is that it is there. We brought our own breakfast-fresh fruit, danish and yogurt and only used the breakfast room for cutlery and were given strange looks because several people thought we had taken the last of those items. Get ready to fight for a space in their small breakfast area-mostly cereal. There is no real "service" because once you check in, that's about it. I rated it as POOR because it is there, but that's about it.

Room Tip: See if you can get a cleaner room at another facility.

We booked our Trip about 3 months ahead of time and there wasnt alot available.I wasnt thrilled with the reviews, but they seemed to get better as it got closer to our Trip.We paid a average of $150 a night and I thought that was a little over priced, but I guess thats California! I will say that everything else about the hotel was about average, when we go away we are only in the room to sleep and I thought the room was nice, plenty of room.Overall, its a cool little town and its over an hour to Yosemite Valley(lots of Mountain roads)If you want a great buffet, awesome wi-fi connection and great ammenties, this isnt the place for you.If you want a place to rest your head at night, thats what you will get here
