We stayed her for three nights in September 2010 and found the property itself lovely and the hosts very kind. Also, the midweek, three-day price was unbeatably good for the Willow Room.
But that being said, I would definitely not recommend this as a base for exploring Yosemite unless you intend to restrict yourself to the southern, Mariposa Grove section of the park. We spent at least three to four hours in the car each day, leaving us with less time to hike and explore and little time to enjoy the inn by the time we returned.
Our only other quibble was that the place has a very "aging baby boomer" sort of vibe. I felt like I was staying at my parents' house, which is cozy but not romantic. We were one of the only younger couples, and we felt like we had to whisper through breakfast. Very awkward.
If I had it to do over, I would just cough up the money to stay in Yosemite.More
