“Great value For the money”

Crab Cakes was located right across from our motel. We stopped in for supper after a long day at Yosemite. What a great restaurant!! We went on a Wednesday and were able to get a bottle of wine for half price. The food was delicious. My husband got the trout special, which was golden trout. I had the fried clam special because that is my absolute favorite seafood meal. My meal was under $10. The coleslaw was a mix of shredded cabbage, parsley and Italian dressing. Unusual and very tasty. They have several types of seafood chowder. I had the New England Clam Chowder and it was very good! They have wonderful desserts also. There is a bakery adjoined to the restaurant and I think the desserts come from there. Michael was our waiter and he made us feel right at home. The chef even stopped by to see how we liked our meal. Can't get any better than that!!

“Excellent food/warm atmosphere/friendly staff”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 7, 2014

When I first saw their name "Crab Cakes", my first reaction was "how hokey", but was I ever proven wrong. Wow! The hostess and our server (Michael) were extremely warm and helpful. We dined on the patio with a beautiful view of the foothills. We were able to take our time with our dinner and conversations with the staff. The food flavors, preparation, and presentation were outstanding. We started out with their namesake, crab cakes, as an appetizer. They were extremely tasty, and the tomato-basil sauce on the side was a perfect compliment. For our main course my wife had the seafood pasta while I had the calamari piccata. Both dishes were great. Now for dessert. We shared a sice of the peanut butter and chocolate cake. Rich, dark chocolate complimented by the peanut butter. As far as price, it was a very good value considering the quality and portions. I'll be back. Just another reason I love being a local.

“Straight out of a box .”

The slaw was good . Fresh cabbage and prepared with Italian dressing instead of mayo. The selection is small and mostly fried. The popcorn shrimp came out of a grocery store freezer for a fraction of the price. The red potatoes were solid and not soft and fresh . The green beans were color on the plate. The crab legs had been frozen a while too.... Thin and fishy. Save yourself and move on.

“Good food!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 2, 2014

Helpful welcoming staff. Good drinks variety. Food tasty and menu varied. We ate here two nights in a row as it was convenient and good. Upstairs one night and downstairs in the more family style area the other night. Value quite reasonable.
