This place is a great balance between a cabin and a B&B. After a long day in the park it felt like home and secluded getaway all in one. Our warm and friendly host (Eddie) was always available to provide helpful advice. The location is great and the central (grand room) is a great place to socialize with other guests and share the experiences of the day. Next time we will pick up a bottle of wine, something for the grill, and enjoy the view from the deck space. Thank you

We struck gold here. Eddie has put so much thought into this lovely place, and neither it nor he could possibly more welcoming. Absolutely everything you could wish for in relaxing home comforts has been provided and we just wished we could have stayed for longer to make the most of it! After several days of eating out in restaurants on our road trip, it was so nice to be able to avail ourselves of the barbecue (gas) and sit on the deck, overlooking the forests, in total peace. The family room where we stayed was incredibly comfortable and spacious, and being able to make our own breakfasts added a leisurely touch. The Great Room has lots of information about Yosemite and Eddie cannot do enough to help to ensure that his guests enjoy being in this beautiful area. As he could not accommodate us for a third night, he immediately set about researching local alternative accommodation on our behalf. The atmosphere of the accommodation is very sociable and we are sure that it will preserve this character when the two extra rooms come on stream. Our children really enjoyed staying here and socialising with Eddie's own daughter - it was definitely one of the highlights of our trip.
Location-wise, count on roughly an hour (maybe a bit less) from leaving this cabin to parking in the Yosemite Valley. We travelled into the Park both days we were there. Attractions such as Bass Lake are much closer.
Oakhurst town itself is well-provided with supermarkets and other services, not at rip-off prices as you get closer in to the Park itself.

Room Tip: The Sequoia Room is HUGE! One child slept on a very comfortable sofa bed and the other was in a fold-out bed in the large walk-in closet - it worked very well for us.

We truly enjoyed our stay at the Evergreen Haus. It lives up to all it's described to be. We were there for 3 night and got to meet 2 other couples coming and going. They were both great and we really enjoyed getting to know them. As stated in all of the previous reviews the owner Eddie 100% committed to you and making sure your stay is top notch. We were there for our visit to Yosemite. We found it to be a perfect location. 25 min to the park entrance. 5 min from great food and services in Oakhurst. If I had it to do over I would have stayed at least 1 more night. We had 2 full days in Yosemite. I would have liked to stay 1 more and explore more of Sierra National Forest. Eddie had clued us in on what sounded like great sights in the area. We just didn't have enough time.

We stayed for 1 night (which is rare as 99% of Yosemite hotels require min. 2 night stay) and it was awesome. We rented the whole cabin and couldn't have been more pleased with every aspect. Eddie is a very friendly and gracious host and is more than willing to make you feel at home. The cabin is very convenient to the south entrance of Yosemite. Quit window shopping and book this pace!

We stayed at Evergreen Haus a week ago for 2 nights. I wish we could have stayed longer! It was a beautiful home. The owner Eddie was wonderful. If we had any questions about the area he was able to help advise us. We stayed in the Redwood room with our two teenage boys and it was perfect for sleeping. Eddie had a rollout bed and a twin mattress for the boys that fit perfectly next to the king bed. The common area was clean and inviting. The kitchen was fully stocked with supplies for cooking as well as dry breakfast food such as cereal, pop tarts, and oatmeal to name a few. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone going to the Yosemite area! If we are ever in the area again, I would totally stay there again!
