Discover Yosemite tour is an excellent way to see Yosemite and leave the driving to someone else. Friendly and knowledgeable (great insider/local tips) tour driver/host. Great lunch provided. I would highly recommend this tour!

Yosemite park has such a concentration of awe-inspiring views of granite, trees, meadows, and waterfalls/streams in infinite combinations that even a mediocre tour company could be rated very good simply bringing you to the location. However, Discover Yosemite is an excellent tour service, with friendly, knowledgeable people from the reservations person to the personable guide. This, combined with Yosemite's beauty, made our experience one we will remember.

My wife and I were part of a group of 10 tourists in a 28-passenger bus. Our driver Glenn picked us up promptly at the arranged pickup time in front of our Oakhurst motel and we went on to the Tenaya Lodge where the rest of our group was staying. Glenn's nearly non-stop talks covered a range of topics: history of the area native Americans, the Mariposa Battalion/early white explorers, trees/plants, the granite formations & glacier-formed features in the Valley, meadow formation, etc. etc. The bus is supplied with a plentiful supply of various snacks and a variety of juice/soda/water.

We started with a walk through the Mariposa Grove of giant sequoias, strolling past many of the giants, with Glenn pointing out features due to lightning, bears, etc., and impacts of man. It was amazing to see that a tiny cone contained thousands of seeds that could grow to a giant!

We had the company provided lunch/drinks at Glacier Point, eating with a view of Half Dome and the magnificent range and forests surrounding it. This was truly one of the high points of the tour. Depending on weather, this is not always possible, so we felt fortunate we could experience it.

We then went to the Yosemite Valley, stopping at Inspiration point and a variety of other both popular and less frequented locations of interest and beauty. We took two other walks, one to view Vernal Falls from the bottom, and another that took us over a stream and through a meadow (on an allowed path). Another stop we made afforded a great view of El Capitan, with two tents visible attached to the face halfway up.

Overall, a great day starting at our 8am pickup to our 5:45pm dropoff at Oakhurst. I highly recommend Discover Yosemite!

I booked the tour ahead of my visit to Yosemite and whilst the price may seem steep, it was worth it. The tour is a full day trip and includes lunch, which was delicious and with a personalised label, there were also snacks and drinks included and available throughout the day. Our tour guide and driver was Glenn, picking us up bright and early on a rather frosty September morning at Tenaya Lodge. Throughout the day, we covered so much ground, with optional extra sights we could walk to if we wanted, which most of us did. The tour was fantastic, Glenn taught us so much about Yosemite, things I would never have known unless I were on the tour, and probably would have driven past. Sadly I didn't get to see a bear, although those at the very front of the bus spotted one running past, but it was just too quick for Glenn and the rest of us - but we did see deer and other wildlife. If you're short for time and want to see as much as possible, I'd definitely recommend this tour.

This was our first trip visiting Yosemite. We booked this tour through the Tenaya Lodge, where we were staying. The tour bus picked us up at 8:30 a.m. Our tour guide was Marcia, our van had only 28 people on board, very comfortable, large windows and air conditioning. A pre selected bag lunch was provided by Raley's, all day snacks, water and beverages were also included. We made numerous stops throughout the day, and were able to see so many different places throughout Yosemite Valley. If this is your first time visiting Yosemite and you are only staying a short time, I would definitely recommend this tour. Our tour bus dropped us off at our Lodge around 5:30 p.m. The sites and sounds, the photos that we took, made for an unforgettable day.

We booked our tour from Tanaya Lodge on the 15th September - our guide Saul was very knowledgeable about the area, fauna and flora. The 8 + hours passed very quickly and we saw some amazing scenery. Each stop we had plenty of time to explore on our own or we could stay with Saul who had stories to tell - there is nothing he doesnt know about the Sequoia trees. As the day progressed it got very warm - but the bus was air conditioned, so we had time to recouperate before the next stop. The end of the tour was at Glacier Point where we had a good hour to wander around on our own-the sights are truly spectacular - and this is from someone afraid of high places!! Thoroughly recommend this trip for your and old. We saw deer, little squirrel things and even a black bear and a coyote. Great day out
