Description: You wouldn't expect to run across the bigger than life flavors of New Orleans in a little mountain town just south of Yosemite National Park, but that's exactly what you'll find at Woody's New Orleans West in Oakhurst, CA. Woody himself is in the kitchen dishing up New Orleans favorites like Jambalaya and Etouffee, all set against the backdrop of the Sierras. Along with traditional New Orleans favorites Woody serves some special creations of his own, drawing from his exposure to cuisines from all over the world. Unique dishes like the Spicy Crawfish Balls and Mardi Gras Pasta have Yosemite locals coming back for more. Woody's New Orleans West offers the best of all worlds: Southern food with a global flair, sophisticated cuisine in a mom-and-pop atmosphere where you'll really become one of the family. Take a couple minutes to look over our menu and get ready to travel into the heart of the South while in the mountains just outside of Yosemite.

Authentic Creole cuisine served by friendly folks in a down to earth fashion. The Crawfish balls are awesome as are the fried pickles. There are only about a dozen wine choices but they are good and the pours are generous. You will have a great time.

“Well worth finding”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

This is a small place & off the main road, but it's worth looking for; a hidden gem of Oakhurst. They have excellent Cajun cuisine; very flavorful, spicy if you want. Seafood, steaks, chicken, I LOVE Woody's chicken & cornbread. I have never liked creamed vegetables but tried Woody's creamed chayote squash & fell in love with it. Find Woody's New Orleans West next time you come to Oakhurst, You won't be disappointed!.

“Best place in Oakhurst”
Reviewed October 8, 2012

This is easily our favorite place in Oakhurst, and we've eaten everywhere. Choose the soup with dinner, it's always excellent. The desserts are very good too.

“Cajun - California style”
Reviewed September 28, 2012

Definitely not a place that skimps on portions! Food was tasty and wholesome, slightly curious substitution of salmon for more typical Gulf fare used in Cajun cooking, but it worked. Only regret was ordering a starter - way too much food!
