This place is okay to stay. the only pros about the place is the river going and the greenery around from winter spring is the best time to visit. the bathrooms are okay.the cons--there is only 1 toliet in the showers. they have some black mold in the corners and look like they are being renovated. if you dont mind looking at run down mobile homes above you with permanate tenants, this may be okay for you i wonder if this is a child business because it is kind of hard to talk with staff about your reserveration checking in--out when children are playing games on the computer and running around the office. if you do not mind checking into a office daycare then this may be the plcae for you. they may even watch your children. also drive extremely slow when travling through the park we saw very young children driving a golf cart and one almost hit us as we were leaving we even saw a child roll out of a golf cart to. there is also one EXTREMELY RUDE MOUTH, another employe said her name was nicky. after this expirence dont think we will be coming back unless they have a make over

A disappointment.
Quality of the site far away from the web site display and far away from Yosemite Valley center (at least 45mi of whiny road away from the RV park).
My mistake anyway should have not camped outside the South entry of the park.

Other than dry camping in the park itself, which is hard to get, you will still have a good drive to anything you want to see in Yosemite from just about any private campground. We stayed here a month in our motorhome. The staff, Kathy, Nicky & Donna were very friendly & helpful. My biggest compliant would be the size of the sites themselves. They were very tight & you were right on top of your neighbor. Most of the time, it didn't matter too much because there are a huge amount of rental RV's that go thru there & they don't tow a car, so even if they stay more than one night, their RV goes with them all day. I can't say much about the river, it's more like a creek, but if you walked down by the campsites there was a small waterfall that sounded nice. We did see several deer, including a buck, lots of birds & some resident ducks. You're close to town & could actually walk there if you don't tow a vehicle. There is plenty to offer in the town of Oakhurst, including a movie theater, a couple of large grocery stores, plenty of restaurants & just about anything else you would need. We also went to Bass Lake several times. It's about a 15 min drive from there. The lake is very clear & the water was not real cold. We hung out by "The Falls"- didn't see any of those, but it was close & usually not too crowded. The wifi was usually pretty good, it dropped me a couple times, but that was in a month's time. We didn't use the bathrooms so can't comment on that, except to say I saw them being cleaned a couple times each day. I did use the laundry, which was reasonably priced - I think $1.50 for wash & $1 for dry, which was at least 45 min & dried everything, & it was clean. I'm only rating this a 3 because of the small sites & there wasn't much landscaping so you couldn't call this a pretty campground. However, I would recommend it to others. Be sure to follow their RV friendly directions from Civic & Golden Oak off rt 41. Your GPS will bring you in another direction which is a big hill. Best sites -40 there is no one on your patio side & it seems a little wider, 39 - no one on either side, however, the dump station is next to it, but I walked my dog past there plenty of times & never smelled anything, also it is next to one set of bathrooms, so there are people around & I've seen people cut the back corner to use the restroom- one person put yellow tape across to keep people from cutting thru. It's under the trees & very shaded. Also got a nice breeze from across the "river" & you could hear the waterfall. #16 was great if you've got a smaller RV or trailer. It's on the end & there is a small grove of tress right next to it. It was the coolest spot in the park during the heat wave. #36 & 34 have more space, but there is a lot of traffic going past them. The river view spots were really nothing but maybe a small view of the creek like river.

The family wanted to visit Yosemite so we found the closest RV park to the south entrance that had full hook-ups because inside Yosemite is nothing but dry camping. This place is right in the middle of town but they've managed to keep some of the forest feel so it's not like camping in a parking lot like some parks. We didn't get the site I had reserved right next to the stream, but the one we did get (site 40) was at the end of a row next to restrooms and looked down over the tents sites and then the stream on the other side of them. There was a small waterfall near us so the sound of water was nice. It's called the Fresno River, but it's really just a small stream/creek. It was a nice feature though. Site was average size with a wooden picnic table and fire ring with a small grate to the back of it for cooking. Site was on dirt with old railroad ties as boundaries. Some small pebbles and lots of dry grass also made up the pad. Around us were lots of trees and more dead grass. Too bad they don't water more or this could be a beautiful place. Bathrooms were a little lacking. The main bathrooms had a men's & women's single stall so lines would form often. The second facility was just up a hill from the other but also had 2 showers each for men and women. No private dressing area, just a couple of shower stalls and a bench and three hooks outside the stalls. There were also double sinks and a couple of toilets (1 toilet, 1 urinal in the men's). A $20 refundable deposit for the shower key is required. A laundry facility was also in this building. Bathrooms were old but fairly clean with only a few spiderwebs here and there. My wife found it a little weird to be able to hear men talking next door while she showered. I could hear the women while I was showering just as easily.

There is a dump station on-site so if you don't mind storing your waste for a few days, there are some nice sites down at the end of the park without sewer hook-ups (28 thru 33) that are close to the stream, with the nicest probably being 33 because it has a little sandy area and swimming hole next to it. Other than walking visitors, you would almost feel alone down on the end with waterfalls, trails, and lots of vegetation.

I'll give the park an Average rating and would visit again since there really aren't any other decent options in the area that we could find.

We stayed at High Sierra RV over Memorial Day week. We knew Oakhurst well and thought this was a great location close to Yosemite without all the hassles! The website pictures looked great, but had read some of the bad reviews so we weren't sure what to expect. We booked corner tent site 15a which was featured in pictures in their ads and website. When we arrived, we were pleasantly surprised, the site was larger than we expected and was right on the waterfall. We even had two picnic areas! We were right by the bathrooms which was really convenient. The showers were also very close and not used much because most of the campers were in RVs. The town of Oakhurst has everything you might need and was just a short walk or drive. The staff was really friendly and kept everything clean and maintained. There were several other tent campers and everyone seemed happy and friendly. Make sure to pack an EZ up for summer, because the trees are still young and don't provide much shade. Our family had a great time and will definitely return next year!

Room Tip: The sites on the river are the best!

Stayed and visited the area with my spouse this past Memorial Day Weekend and had passed the turnout because the sign located in front of the Valero gas station was so small. The RV spaces are very close, and as we opened our door, there was the picnic table of the party next to us. Expect to pay $5 everytime you need to dump at their dumping station. WiFi was excellent and it was good to stay in touch while being on the road.

We had brought our pets, and noticed that there were a few pet owners who didn't pickup after their pets pottied; gross! Our location was right in front of a pleasant steam where we saw ducks swimming on ocassion. Up about four spaces east was the sound of the water falls that you have to check out. You need to get some video of the water falls to share with friends when you return home.

The park is conveniently located (once you find it) off Highway 41 near grocery stores, gas stations, shops and eateries. We decided to have breakfast on our last morning at the Ol Kettle Restaurant where we waited 45 minutes to have our food prepared; we won't go there again!

The positives outweighed the negatives for this park, and we would return again in the future.

Room Tip: Look for the small sign before you pass the Valero gas station on the right, otherwise you'll ha...

When we were planning a trip to Yosemite we decided that campervanning would be the way to go and decided to stay in Oakhurst - even though we knew the drive in each day was a bit of a chore. Note - a campervan is not an RV, but a converted van that has a bed, storage and cooking facilities - so we did not camp. We arrived May 21st and drove out May 25th.

We booked for a riverfront site and kept thinking the price was too good to be true - especially after reading some of the reviews! However - it well exceeded our expectations. When we arrived, the two ladies at the office were so lovely and welcoming and had good senses of humour. As we drove down to our site we couldn't believe how lucky we were. The stream was full and flowing (freezing water though) - just like the pictures on their website! We had a fire pit (where you can buy kindle from the office for $10 or it's slightly cheaper at the supermarket). Bags of ice are $2. The bathrooms and shower facilities were very clean our entire stay and I can't help but put this down to the fact that the majority of people there were in self contained RVs, not tent campers (there was only one tent up the whole 4 days we were there). So we basically were the only people using these facilities. The showers aren't fancy, but who cares, the water was hot and plentiful. There's also a laundry with industrial machines ($1.50 for washing/ $1 for drying: bring plenty of quarters).

The park was very quiet, most people who were staying there were friendly but generally kept to themselves. We got to see lots of birdlife on the stream and even two deer came wandering through. We were the first ones up each morning as we wanted to get on the road to Yosemite by 6.30am each day - this timing made us some of the first people into the picnic areas on the valley floor. We were in bed by 9.30pm each night and the entire place was very quiet.

Overall - we loved it here in our hired campervan and would stay again without hesitation.
