beautiful clean and wide room, very comfortable beds, guest laundry, real place with sofa and table in the room, kitchen corner, nice breakfast. A really good value for money before entering in Yosemite Park.

wow. No longer the Shiloh Inn? I hope the service stays the same. I stay here every time I travel to Yosemite. I'm able to call and they give me so much information on weather, activities, without being annoyed at the fact that you know they get these questions every single day. Easy check in online, easy check in at the front desk. love that it's old school with them handing over actual keys to your room, which by the way is very comfortable and with lots of space. Very affordable even during the summer when most folks travel through. I have stayed at other hotels in Oakhurst and I still can't get the same service I always get from the Shilo Inn.

The first thing to note is this hotel has changed chain; it's no longer part of the Shilo chain and so you can easily drive by it!

Checkin was effecient (not friendly) and we were fortunate to get a suite pool-side, which was a real bonus as the family spent much early/late time in the pool as it was sooooo hot! The rooms were large and clean. the air con had no controls in one room so was all or nothing, You have to get down to breakfast early if you want a selection of food, otherwise you are left with toast. The breakfest room is small so eat in your room. The pool and hot tub are fab - beware the concrete around the pool gets very hot in summer!

Oakhurst is the last "proper" town before you start the drive into Yosimitie. Be warned it takes 1.25 hours, 26ish wriggly road miles to reach the Park from Oakhurst. The drive is a pain, but the Park is well worth it when you get there.

The best place to eat in Oakhurst is the chinese on the same side of the road as Shilo, a few doors down - it doesn't look much, but the food is great and the prices are ridiculously cheap!

Your basic high traffic and somewhat worn vacation hotel ... nothing fancy ... dated furniture and linen ... could use an updated renovation ... appeared to be clean ... service and staff were very friendly and positive ... Continental breakfast was lacking and a disappointment compared to a Hilton property - we headed to Judy's doughnuts and Pete's Place ... Don't be fooled by "close to the south entrance to Yosemite" - it is a good 30+ minute drive on a winding - slow moving road ... Adequate at best for a high demand area ... however, compared to other options - not sure how this would rate

The hotel was supposed to be right outside of Yosemite. It is at least a half hour drive, but there was little other options closer to Yosemite's south entrance. Also, the hotel was in the first real town outside of Yosemite. The people were nice, room was nice enough and breakfast similar to a Best Western. Long line to make waffles. Need another waffle maker. The price over the phone was a lot higher than the internet price, but since we could not natigate their internet site from where we were when we were making the reservations, thay matched the price over the phone. It was not cheap but the other hotels were booked so can't blame them. You can walk to places to eat and some stores. I suggest Chinese food for dinner. Shilo had a display of some of the local menu's on their counter for review. The menu for TODD's BBQ down the street was extremely off. This is the fault of Todd's as they offer this same printed menu at the restaurant then charge $3 more per item when you go to order it. They say the menu states that prices subject to change (then print new menus. It was only on copy paper). I think Shilo should not be recommending a restaurant that is deceptive. We were hungry and didn't appreciate the extra time in picking a restaurant due to the decptive menu.
