This was our second visit to the Queen's Inn. Only 20 minutes to Yosemite, (Get there early morning to get into the park.) this family run hotel/winery with wine bar and beer garden is a unique place. Rooms are totally upgraded and well appointed. Attention to detail is evident. The wine bar features local wines and is an interesting mix of tourists and locals. On the weekends, they often have wine tastings and live music in the bug-free beer garden. A great time. Don't leave without buying a couple of prize winning bottles from the winery. Anna, the wine maker is incredibly passionate about her work. We enjoyed learning from her. Also, Rocky on the desk was extremely welcoming and helpful. When you visit Yosemite, plan at least two nights when the wine bar is open to stay at this special spot.

We stayed at the Queen's Inn on a family trip to Bass Lake. It is nice and close to Bass Lake and Oakhurst itself was a nice town. As far as the location goes, the inn is situated on a private lot surrounded by trees and a little river below the inn. The inn itself is very modest (maybe 8 or 9 rooms?) in size and took a little getting used too. We stayed on a Monday and Tuesday night so it was fairly empty and a little lonely with not too many other guests. The staff was very friendly and helpful while breakfasts were exactly as others mentioned. We enjoyed grabbing a muffin or bagel on our way out for the day. The hotel itself was definitely old but remodeled (there are pictures of the hotels transformation in the main room/lobby). The bathroom was small but fine for just one person getting ready at a time. I have mixed feelings because the rooms while they were older, were clean and fairly large (with great little patios too where we could spray on the sunscreen before heading to the lake) but I guess for the price, I personally would have preferred to be more centrally located to the town (within walking distance of more locations). Still have great memories and had a great time. The art on the walls was a nice touch.

By the time we decided to go to Yosemite, all of the nice small cabins inside the park have already been booked. Not willing to spend $400 for a hotel room nor $150 for a dingy apartment condo, we looked into Oakhurst.

Queens Inn claims that it's next to a nice river, well, it really is just a tiny creek. But it is a very charming little motel. Yes, it is a motel. But the room was really pretty for a motel, in fact, the room had a nice modern boutique hotel look to it. The room is just a bit small with free wi-fi but no desk. The rate was $119, which was considered reasonable during Yosemite high season.

The Inn also has a wine tasting bar, but unfortunately it was closed on the day we were there. Bummer, I heard they had a really good hot dog barbeque too.

It's 13 miles drive to the south entrance of Yosemite, which didn't sound far when I booked, but turns out the 13 miles are mostly mountain roads, and the drive seemed to take forever. Therefore I would recommend here as your first leg prior to entering Yosemite, but don't stay here if you are going to spend several days inside Yosemite.

Stayed here for 2 nights in May, used Oakhurst as a base for the Yosemite. Queen's Inn was very quaint & charming. We stayed in the Cabernet Franc room and it was a very good size with lovely fireplace (bathroom very small - but hey you don't spend much time there). The grounds are well looked after with the river right at the back of the property and picnic tables scattered around. The Wine Bar was open (as it was a Saturday night with live band), the bar / beergarden was full with locals, so we got a little less customer service than expected, which was a real shame as it would have been lovely to sit and have a nice drink (there were no seating for outsiders / non locals). Breakfast was not really breakfast, just fruit & pastries, so we went to Pete's Place (amazing real American food - take your appetite with you). Also the Sweetwater Steakhouse on HWY41 (just above Queens Inn) was really nice with some of the best ribs I have ever tried. I would reccommend this Hotel to anyone looking for a stay that is not your mainstream accommodation - also being set back from the HWY was a real bonus, as there was not much noise.

Stayed at the Queens Inn for 2 nights on our way to Yosemite and really enjoyed our time there.

Rocky was a great host and the setting is idillic. Very nicely renovated rooms, spotlessly clean and a but classier then the average. The ownly thing it would have been nice to have would have been a fridge and kettle in the room.

Wi-fi was excellent in the room.

Lovely stay and would certainly go back again if we return to Oakhurst.
