DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Los Angeles - Norwalk

We drove all over looking for the entrance to this hotel. It is easy to see from Interstate 5, but difficult to find after leaving the highway. The hotel staff were all friendly, and helpful. The room was good, but not great. The bed was okay. The bathroom was clean and functional. Free wifi in the public areas, but not in the rooms. I ordered a pizza in the dining room and was served what looked like a bomboli covered with finely chopped zucchini and cheese. Other than the service, everything was just okay. This Marriott is not quite up to the standards of the other Marriotts we have stayed in. We stayed here using Marriott points, so we aren't sure what the rooms would normally cost.

This hotel is average, nothing spectular. The staff is very friendly. There isn't a lot around this area, but there's a Outback Steakhouse and a movie theatre in the back of their parking lot. Overall stay is average.

This is a very nice hotel. Great location near the 5, 105 and 605 freeways. I paid more than I wanted to, but couldn't find a surrounding area hotel near City of Commerce that got a decent review. The room was clean, comfortable, and safe.

We read the reviews on this property on tripadvisor and thought OK this is a nice option, as all the closer Marriott's, Hyatts, and Hiltons to where we needed to be were booked (we traveled last minute). That said several people told us in LA upon arrival that the Norwalk Area was questionable... they were snobs and wrong. Yes Norwalk was older and maybe not a tourist mecca, but the area was safe, well lit and very active. The Norwalk Marriott is located behind a AMC movie theatre but this caused not problem and we were close to affordable gas and shopping. The closes mall was a good click (15 minutes away, but we were only 15 minutes from Disney area attractions, 30 Minutes from LAX and 20 Minutes from Downtown. We arrived on a Saturday night and were provided a free breakfast voucher, due to the fact that the C Lounge was closed, but on Sunday night and Monday morning we enjoyed the selection and variety at the Lounge. The staff was beyond helpful and friendly from the bartender, to the cleaning staff to the AWESOME front desck Manager Seth. The lobby is new as advertised but what was a suprise was the room, which I believe (at least the 8th floor) was newly renovated as well. The bed was comfy, the room and bathroom were clean the the TV and other ammenities were state-of-the-art. Plus in LA free parking is a real rarity and the Norwalk marriott along with a under $100.00 rate was a real bargain. As said this is not our normal hotel in LA, but I can say with no doubt that the Norwalk Marriott might have just become just that.

We spent 3 days at the Marriott in Norwalk as part of our anniversary trip. We know it had gotten some great reviews which is why we booked it. We were thrilled when the reviews turned out to be true. We did not want to stay in LA proper but wanted to be close enough to hop on the highway and go visit some friends. The proximity to the 5 was very convenient. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They even upgraded us to a suite for our anniversary. The room was beautiful and very comfortable. My husband really enjoyed the hot tub after a long day of sightseeing.

I had to be in the Norwalk area for my niece's high school graduation, so I booked rooms for my mom and my family. Little did I realize that the rooms would be so luxurious, but also that the junior suites I had booked would also include concierge service. That was quite a perk for my mother, who previously has only stayed at the cheapest motel available. My husband also celebrated his birthday during our stay, and the desk staff remembered him commenting on it, so when we came back to our room on one of the nights, they had sent up a complimentary birthday cake. Not needed, but so thoughtful and sweet of them. The only downside is the restaurant, but there are so many other eateries within walking distance that it was only a slight disappointment.

Stayed at Norwalk Marriott for 2 nights in December 2007.

Overall I was impressed with the hotel. There was plenty of parking. Reception and checking in was a painless affair and the staff were pleasant and well presented.

The lounge area had a nice ambience and even had a computer terminal to check mails, surf the internet etc.

I was pleasantly suprised with the qaulity of the rooms. Appeared like new property and were quite spacious and well endowed.
Television was of a good size, linen was clean and pleasant and the room quality overall was good.

Bathroom had all that could be expected inclulding a filter coffee maker. Shower and Bathtub were separate.

We had breakfast in the cafe and were not disappointed with the service standard and quality of food. Admitedly there were very few visitors there but we were pleased with the food and service nonetheless.

All in all a clean, spacious, pleasant hotel with good facilities.
