“good rates for palm springs”
Reviewed April 5, 2014

the lowest rate i found for a palm springs motel was here. it was a convenient drive to the palm springs tram, i-10 corridor and downtown.
the receptionists were very friendly and helped to resolve a dispute about the rate. the manager was also fair and corrected my bill.
i asked for a room facing the mouintains and wind turbines. it was a good view, but the fierce wind made an annoying noise as it found its way through the window. there was a pile of sand on the windowsill that had blown into the room also, for a quieter room, you might want to stay in a room facing the pool courtyard.
the room was standard for a motel 6 but had expanded cable tv.
the room and grounds need a thorough cleaning, but it was no dirtier than most other motel 6s and cheap motels. it was a fine place to stay.

Lets start with the good. Cheap-$41 with an online coupon. Pet friendly- not everyone takes cats, and most everyone else charges a pet fee. Decent view of the wind turbines and mountains( ask for the back section away from main parking lot and front of hotel.)
2 very friendly and helpful employees- Janice and Tanya, who did everything possible to make me welcome and comfortable.
Now with the downward facing thumb.Dirty carpets. The room looks clean but my socks are turning black- not kidding. Dirty parking lot and grounds. Undependable internet that literally kicks you off every few minutes. If you read my 29 Palms review you will see I had this same problem at that Motel 6..seems weird it is at both locations.
Not able to make local calls. We have a phone and are told we can make local calls yet i get a busy signal with every one.Was told I cannot call cell phones or businesses.. that seemed very odd. I called M6 customer service line and asked for a comped night because of these issues and was told a manager would call.. no call. front desk person said she would call about moving me to another room to make calls.. no call.
No fridges! This is an amazing oversight in a desert land. Staff does let you keep some things in the office fridge but you feel bad bothering them all the time.

I've stayed here 3 or 4 times. It is basic - but a good stop. The winds kick up every evening, and are quite noisy even in the rooms. This one isn't as new consistently maintained as the one at the west end of the main drag in Palm Springs. It is closer to the I-10 freeway, and close to the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway entrance. Interesting stay.

I had a great room (120) with a big tree outside the door, providing shade. I don't like hiding behind closed drapes, like some tweeker, so the view was of the nearbty mountains. The pool was right there, and an adjacent Denny's Providing 10$% off. And my main reason for staying: a dispensary right next door! "Just look For The Green Cross".

Room Tip: Ones facing away from the Interstate, will be much quieter.

Have stayed in a fair number of Motel 6's and it is always a hit or miss affair. This one was mostly a miss for us. We chose it because it was convenient and since we were in a Uhaul truck towing our car their parking was a plus. And the Denny's next door was also a plus. Check in was smooth and they were nice. That's the good news.

The bad news started the instant we opened the door and were greeted by a cockroach. Kicked it out and hoped for the best. After dinner, we were watching the limited tv offerings on the old school tv and I looked down and sure enough there was another cockroach. Killed this guy but while we didn't notice another one, where there's one or two there are usually more. Not good. The sheets were so thin they almost didn't exist. Ditto for the towels. I know this is not a Ritz Carlton and didn't expect it to be, but I would say this was one of the worst Motel 6's I've stayed at. Won't be back.

Was passing through, needed a place to stay while taking a break from driving, found this very convenient place to stay. The front desk staff was very nice, professional & quick. The swimming pool was a bit too cold, considering the surrounding temperature. Room was clean & comfortable.
