Heard about this joint on Channel 31 by Newscaster Nick Toma (we miss him). He said it was one of the best burger places around Sac. OMG! He was right. Old, beat-up, 60's mode, low class, sketchy area, with an awesome burger! Ya park right in front; it's a drive-in. No drive-thru.
Cash only. Not unusual for the waitress/cook to ask from inside her little window, "Yeah, whatawant?" :-) Prices are fair, burgers have a great sauce (and lots of onions, if desired). Do people really eat burgers without onions?
That's sort of like owning a convertible and never dropping the top...
The super burger with fries is their signature entre. Other stuff there also, chicken strips, sandwiches, etc. Many locals eat there regularly. Paint-over and old, local high school, and military pics are the décor inside this dive. Stop in and tell the grandkids this place is what a hamburger stand was when you were a kid. Not quite sure what makes this place work, but when we are in the area we ALWAYS GO TO LOU'S!

I'm not sure what the folks who gave Lou's Burgers a bad review are talking about.
Eating at Lou's is like stepping back in time and eating at an old style drive in. The
burgers are huge, thick patties with their special sauce. By the time you get half way
through, the burger the buns are beginning to wear thin just from everything on it.
If you remember burger joints as they used to be, go to Lou's and expect to be
impressed.
