Very nice buildings with courtyard to enjoy your lunch. You can pick up cheeses and other items at the winery, or order one of their snack plates.

“Great location, spectacular grounds, good wines, and reasonable prices”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 24, 2013 via mobile

There aren't many wineries on the north and northeast side of the lake. This is one of the few and it has to be one of the most beautiful. There is a $5 tasting fee for 5 pours, but a purchase negates it. Some area resorts may also carry offers that eliminate the fee altogether. The winery also produces lavender products, its own olive oil, honey products, and balsamic vinegar, all available for purchase at the tasting room. Deli fare may be purchased for a light lunch at the site. No outside food or drinks are permitted. The wines are very good and most are priced reasonably.

“One man's dream being beautifully fulfilled.”

The setting here is loved and Jim Fetzer is carefully creating a destination spot. There is attention to every detail shown. The day we were there Jim was having a group of friends over for a pizza dinner in a setting right out of an Italian villa. Wines are delightful. I can't wait to go there and stay overnight.

Beautiful grounds, great tasting room. Plan to spend some time strolling around and be sure to try their Dry Rose.

“Beautiful day...wonderful grounds...delicious wines!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 9, 2012

We arrived by boat in late June(later found out in Sunset magazine, that it is the only winery accessible by boat in the U.S.). The lavender that greets you on the walk up from the dock was gorgeous, to say the least.

The winery itself, is fairly grand with a Mediterranean vibe and very knowledgable staff. They did have a modest tasting fee, but I'm sure it's rarely charged, since a purchase negates it, and after a few pours you're certain to find something you'll want to take home with you.

After joining one of their wine clubs, you receive an extra 20-25% off purchases (onsite & online), plus the obvious benefit 3 times a year. It wasn't our absolute favorite wine in Lake County (Brassfield was), but the overall experience was second to none! A MUST do if you're staying in the Clear Lake area.
